Eagle # 1 User ID: 77748 Ireland 04/04/2006 09:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thinking about comet 76P and the 20 known peices large enough to detect at present, AND realizing that there is EXPECTED to be MORE breakup, with possibly hundreds of peices less than 100 - 120 feet across that can NOT BE SEEN until the last day/hour, I think we are in for a BIG suprise about May eighth ! There ARE certain standard deveations for a SINGLE body being tracked concerning potential 'miss distance', but when one turns to three, then TWENTY ( That can be seen ) due to impact/stress/heat (?) how can anyone with a logical mind set say WITH CERTAINTY that we will NOT be HIT ? Answer IS, they can't. It's ONLY an educated GUESS based on INSUFICIENT DATA, IMHO. Eagle |
