If you can get access to a stove do scrambled eggs and home fries. I could tolerate that for 4 days.

i have no oil, so it's hard boiled eggs topped with sea salt and few boiled potatoe slices for each meal, not so bad, im not complaining too loudly, i have gone hungry before, i can handle this. all the better real food will taste when i get through these 4 days. i pray i can find a job soon, otherwise i will look back on these 4 days like i was living and eating like a king, as ill be homeless and starving on the streets aloen soon

I used to scavenger vending machines for change people forget to collect to come up with enough money to buy a can of something to eat.

Get some oil and fry the rice in it until golden brown,add onion and what ever meat you can,add water(1 cup rice to two cups water)and cook till rice is plump,scramble eggs and add to fried rice.

Two cups of rice feed me for three days.

think of it this way,

if you broke your leg, you would use crutches, knowing it was a temporary fix until your leg healed.

you can always donate food back when you are employed

Man 99% of the folks on here haven't had to rough it before. I've done the same thing before. Eggs are cheap and they can last making sandwiches (good protein). What I did was familiarized myself with edibles were available in the local woods. There are surprisingly many edibles in the woods so I supplemented. You also get very real about perspectives in life and reliance on God for everything. God Bless and good luck.

I remember being laid off at 19, living on beans and oatmeal, it was depressing, but I had a nice friend from church who would take me to a place sometimes after Sunday service that was all you can eat and I loaded up

If true you need to realize you put yourself here and you need to get yourself out of the situation. Blandness and lonely thoughts is not enough to be rock bottom. That is more than enough to keep you alive 4 days. If in 4 days you have a resupply plan good for you, if not get motivated fast to take any job that will accept you no matter how menial.

Not trying to be mean but I lived on saltines and peanut butter with instant iced tea for a while many years ago. Got boring but at least I wasn't starving. Hang in there, it may get worse......it may get better. Hoping for better.

Haven't been there in awhile. I had a part time job a few years ago, making enough money to pay my brother rent. I actually didn't have enough for anything outside of that.
I had a 10lb bag of elbow noodles a small thing of parmesan and salt and pepper. I ate that shit for 2-3 weeks before I was able to get another job. Fucking sucked now that I think about it.. thanks for making me remember a super low point of existence

my sad story...I desperately need dental work and I just found out today that there is no where I can go to get this done since I am paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to fix my teeth, 36 years old, female and my teeth decided to go the route of what my Mom's did and decide that the roots just said to heck with you we are gonna break from the inside out, fargin heredity, I always took care of them I just don't get why this happened to them other then its heredity since my Mom's did the same thing around the same age..I can't smile and I refuse to go out of my house for this reason..all my friends hate me because I won't go anywhere and they just don't seem to understand. I cried today when I found out that even the state can't help..even though I do have dental insurance and it will cost 6 thousand dollars, I decided to call the state to see if there are programs that can help...got a big fat NO. I can't get that care dental credit because my credit is not at a 700 score :-(.
Oh and did I mention they always hurt.

Dude find a hotel that will rent you a room for extended periods. There are hotels in my town that do that. That way, you get the room at a huge discount. There are many hotels that do that to fill empty rooms.

Wait, is there a thriving barter system happening in Australia? I can't think of anyone who would trade anything for eggs here. People don't even speak to their neighbors most of the time these days.

Get a set of these for the top. I broke both front caps making hurricane prep. Then, hubby lost job, then 2 and 1/2 years unemployed. He's working now, and soon we will both be able to get some dental care. I've been using these Imako fakes so that I can leave the house, so I know what you are going through. They will yellow over time - and will clean up with a good comet soak. Follow with rubbing toothpaste to clean them up.
