Re: The Four Noble Truths - To Live is to Suffer
Suffering is just a function of time. Without time we are eternal beauty.

Though suffer is big in buddhas headspace it is not the whole.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36448618

True that. Suzuki Roshi said in Zen Mind Beginners Mind "if you see buddha in the road kill him".

Even my own teacher said even buddhism itself is impermanent.
Not that he was saying it didn't have value for this time and place in history.

Re: The Four Noble Truths - To Live is to Suffer
What's the fixation of suffering?
eternal sadness

Live with what you've learned, but more importantly 'live to learn'

learn to forgive yourself, before you try to forgive others
learn to love yourself, before you try to love others
learn to stand alone, before you try to follow

Whatever you do, DO NOT Go looking for pain to be more mature or to "Live"

A simple knowledge of the world and how it works will instill enough suffering, and maturity, but it won't scar you as much because our minds cant comprehend the massive (Run-on sentence) ;p

A little bit. I have looked into most, but much of it was a long time ago. I really enjoy Toltec. I've examined all the Tao teachings, which reminds me of Indra's Net. I looked into a lot of Tibetan stuff, but have found myself very specific to the certain teachings.

Thinking out loud...

I wonder if it's the teachings that find us rather that vice versa. In my experience what comes along seems to be what I need at that time.

I enjoy your view a lot. Lol, you don't have to look for pain, it always finds us.

And yes too insofar as 'fixation on suffering' is I think an earlier in the process tool to look around.

Forgive, love and stand is a good way to stop self torture and make friends with oneself.

Not everybody has to do things the same way. We can have a good time and cheer up too.

Re: The Four Noble Truths - To Live is to Suffer
this is the archon mind which is the ego mind , it it very powerfull and have led men to do insane acts against other men , it is a lil guy sitting in a controll chairjust behind your eyes , and he is a tough adversary, but through meditation and practice you can become enlightend and free of this invader. craving is the source of all suffering
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 36376632

I didn't become awakened by meditation and practice. I was Awakened after an extraordinary trial that made absolutely no sense. Until now. Three weeks at the age of 37 I labored. Three weeks in the worst hell imaginable. Then three weeks of healing has occurred. It's amazing...not one bit of it planned. Just a willing, faithful person going about his business and always in search of that - ANSWER.

This is a buddhist point of view not mine, although I agree with that part.
He was disrespectful with me first so i just returned.
Im no trying do be superior, i just replied, is not for this the forum is?
 Quoting: dmt vector

Sorry you still don't get it even after I explained at length. And you didn't read or address a single one of my points either. You are explaining a "form" and "tone" of buddhism plus instructions.
That tone and form is not one I ascribe to. Just as the bible can be called an external mask people wear to control their world,
the same is done with buddhism or some bargaining chip with the great WOW.
You can use it for points or you can work for it because you don't enjoy living in a state of drunken elephanthood.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 34046798

Pls look at the first post i directed to you Nº 36733349
You said you dont want return to this life again, in a reply to another user who said the life can be good.

So i answered you what is necessary to not return, according with the buddhists beliefs.
And i started this answer with the word, SUPPOSEDLY, and you just told me to shut up.

Re: The Four Noble Truths - To Live is to Suffer
Im a knewb but Daoism seems most realistic to me but yes toltek would be runner up for sure.

Daoism seems very precise/scientific. there was a great discussion between Budism and Daoism from chinese masters on the taobums.com forum but I cant recall the topic title. I think it was on meditations. if I find it I will post a link it was very in depth and a bit like a christian debating with a jehova witness except in a much more respectable manner so I was able to see both sides of the the story on each from an insiders perspective.

the forum is here:

[link to thetaobums.com]

its quite remarkable what you can find there.

Thanks for sharing these truths
Really a true path to let go of suffering for those who really dare to face themselves...
Balance and having fun with it all is also important, so we never forget to laugh at ourselves...

:O)
 Quoting: 141

grandma used to say, each time I forgot and made the mistake of saying that I 'loved' something,

.. 'well then you'll have to marry it.'

Of course I'd say, 'no!'
And she'd reprimand me, 'too bad, you said you loved it already!'

So I was always very careful 'loving.' Stick to people, even then .. . I don't think I ever told my ex that story, hummmm, too late now.. 'hic ..'

I think it means although you still love people, you cannot lose who you are just because they wan't you to conform to their way of thinking. You have to be yourself,or you feel as though you are living a lie.
 Quoting: Newheart

21 years of marriage. You get it. If my husband and I were not able to accept each other and allow each other to be who we are as individuals we never would have made it this long. When you start forcing yourself on your partner you do begin living a lie and that is where trouble begins and relationships end.

The OBE/Astral Travel author? I found his writing style to be like nails on a chalkboard... I have no doubt that he knows of what he speaks of but his writing style & delivery I found to be inadequate and ineffective. He would have benefitted from employing the services of a co-writer/author.
