Well now that damages can be awarded because of this legislation, and there is a new government board set up to regulate the news, I wouldn't hail this as a good thing. Like American healthcare law, the publishers don't even know what all this new deal includes. The law was agreed to behind closed doors by the political elite without publishers being represented.

What will end up happening is any criticism of protected classes (gypsies, jews, fags, muslims, NAMBLA, forever) will result in damages awarded against the publishers. If you think the UK press is liberal now, just wait. There will be Zero real news, as everything has to make it past the censorship and PC board. Glowing news "stories" about the wondrous and just Sharia law will be common place.
All this to correct illegal behavior that was better resolved through arrests and jail terms.
The English now have a controlled press that has been codified by law, voted upon by traitorous bureaucrats, and will be paid for through rivers of English blood.
