THat sort of coincidence. A conspiracy of alpha particles.. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5146667 Most modern WiFi has onlyt 13 channels of Radio.. only 13, sorta like the old analog pre UHF TV.. consider this.. Interference of the wifi 'cells'.. of inter-channel interference takes a bit of planning, and of course all would have to abide by the 'rules' of the neighbor cells to avoid such radio interference. I already see this in my 8 neighboring households with mine as a center 9th cell.. my wifi detector software shows that 9 out of the available 13 are busy and in use.. and many of them also have three or four being used on the same wifi channel. So, yes, the corraling effect is 'defacto' in play already. If you have a township of say 30,000 people why are there not at least 30,000 radio channels of Wifi? THink Cellular technology and its lay out, the way the towers and cells are arranged and being used, as well as the frequency channel allocations. People Net.. Its all about the AIR WAVES... unless wires are laid down to copy the old telephone systems.. seems like many are wanting to re-invent a 100 year old technology... at least study what was down and how it was down, the science is realatively sound. THis is not really the makings of Internet v. 2.0.. this is more like Internet by the hundreds per surface area. So, what do you know. In order to get it all working along and smoothly running and avoiding the sort of channel congestion that happened with CB Radio.. what do you suggest? At some point someone will advise some form of 'inter group' regulations or at least recommendations,, and viola the Home Owners Associations at the least start getting all hot and bothered and form 'governments' and all the politicing is re-invented. Such is just a matter of time. Because People have not realized where and how Politics started in the world thousands of years ago. It starts with Two people, perhaps, man and woman, and then their children.. then extended families.. the politica starts that early ... go figure.. its pure unadulterated Human Nature. The bigger question may well be, What is worth communicating vs keeping to yourself? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 36409203 Germany 03/18/2013 06:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Internet can´t crash it´s made off an military defence communication network. It virtually is indestructable it is coded this way. Each packet send hast to be verified, if it is not recived it is resend, if it doesnt reach it´s destination, it is rerouted, until it reaches it´s target IP. What can happen is that we cant accesss the data anymore. Cause we are Lazy, somebody introduced DNS (Dynamiy name services) wich made every IP assign an real life name like. www.icrashthenet.de, now lets say my fictive dns has an ip of 192.1.1.1 Wich cant be cause 192/Ips are only used in intranets most of you would know it from your router, as example. Well now an evil hacker infests an dns server with a new IP like 192.1.1.2. Now www.icrashthenet.de can have diffrent contend cause it´s rerouted to the other ip and the PC at the new ip servers a new websited. So basically what you have to do is you have to know your trusted sites have a fixed IP. And then you have to find out that IP of the trusted sites. You can do that by useing your comman shell and typeing "netstat". I´m allmost sure atm the ip of thissite is 217.89.105.169 i just guessed it from one netstat so far. But you can do that with every of your favorite sites servers etc. If you cant reach your favorite pron site with the URL(the real link name) like my.favpron.net, you still may be able to see it with the IP address. One can taint the DNS servers, but they cant bring the net down lists of IP adresses will probably spread across the net in hours with infos to viabale news. Lol well so if the shtf keep the IP of GLP. |

Quoting: Deaf Cat in the Blue Hat Your post just amuses me to no end... [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] Go ahead and start saving threads... It's all free. What a fabrication you're trying to spin here... So odd you would stand in the face of fact and try to make up lies. No, our DB is free, and it is uncensored... So feel free to do as I have done and spend thousands of hours of your life saving it. Sorry to not have had the time - but ummm I wanted a discussion. You can't say the DB isn't censored. What is allowed to stay in it is not uncensored. I proposed a discussion respectfully - to which you did state a truth in that someone could save all the data here given time. I wanted a view of the administration's opinion on making matters easier for GLP to take into it's own hands the easiest route to sustainable backup ability and you shot me down like a shill. I was hoping for a better attitude on the subject YOU brought up :/ If you want to discuss what lies I'm trying to spread, I'm game. Again, the sense here is that you're deflecting the argument toward the site being free. I never claimed it wasn't. I claimed it's content is used to secure profit. Can we discuss that, if anything in response to my post, rather than the matter of it being free and available to be saved and continuously updated by someone on the dole who you rag on all the time? You're suggesting people be the type you despise and ridicule every day in order to have a free backup, FYI. Sidenote: in not all circumstances would relying on the dole give one the time you've invested - realized afterward that would read as a pretty fucked up unintentional association. Knowing that you've done so makes your stance easy to understand and indeed more respectable. Bad timing thing and all - but it would be unfortunate if the expectation is for all to have to make the same sacrifice to share in what you (and others) have. |

[link to www.newscientist.com] "One of the most important aspects of its next-generation backbone is a security feature known as Source Address Validation Architecture (SAVA). "Many of the existing security problems stem from an inability to authenticate IP addresses of computers that try to connect to your network. SAVA fixes this by adding checkpoints across the network. "These build up a database of trusted computers matched up with their IP addresses. Packets of data will be blocked if the computer and IP address don't match." |

Basically it is to use the amateur radio communication to "talk" with modems/switches and all these stuff. It is painfully slow, but it works. Quoting: CripplingLies First, it was packet radio with a single MO-dulator DEM-modulator= Modem one way (you had to stfu to listen and next you transmit) and it had error correction. Next they invented the two way Modem who could work in parallel (receiving and transmiting the same time) so it could work on ground telephone lines band voila... the first BBs es was born and next Internet Without Amateur Radio there would not be Internet you dont need to invent something who already exists you just need to accept low speeds, 300bps for HF worldwide and 1200 or 9600 for VHF-UHF Local contacts But accepting the low speeds, you take a real time Free Digi tal radio communication, TEXT, with local FREE BBS es and worldwide contacts 24/7 from your antenna straight to the other antenna PC to PC, no providers ofcourse you can send files also, but it takes his time:) [link to www.tapr.org] [link to www.dxzone.com] |
