Lost A Friend.... A Conspiracy Theorist.
My friend passed this weekend. Just heard this afternoon and what I’ve heard thus far is that he was dropped by a heart attack. I am unsure of his age, but I think around 56, he played drums in lots of bands and worked construction, just picking up enough work to keep his modest lifestyle and his lifestyle was modest. He drove a van with no payments and his house probably was bought with cash and if he had a payment it was only a couple hundred bucks a month.

The reason I bring this to GLP is because he was a conspiracy theorist. He didn’t talk to me about it as much as my husband, although my husband isn’t necessarily conspiracy minded and I learned long ago to stay in the closet with conspiracy.

He told my husband a story, and I understand other musicians laughed at him for his story, but hubby told me and I didn’t think it was too far out of the realm of possibility.

He said that he was out at his girlfriend’s house, she wasn’t there and he was alone. I have to point out that his girlfriend lives in the upper side of town, where both members of the house have jobs and few are home in the daytime. He said a helicopter crashed in the field across the street, the soldiers inside survived, or at least most of them, he said it was silent and had he not been looking out the window, he never would have known.

He said, as he watched, another helicopter came in for a landing, also silent, and he saw a soldier directing it to land. The one directing the copter was hit in the head by the landing skid and fell to the ground. The other soldiers grabbed him and loaded him into the helicopter, along with the other survivors, and took off silently. In just a few minutes a truck came down the road and soldiers picked up all the debris.

He said it happened in just a short span of time. It was unsure if it was a deliberate crash, as an exercise, or if it was indeed an accident.

He told a few people, most mocked him, and called him “helicopter dude”. He said later, at his girl’s house again, he was standing in the kitchen when another helicopter descended and he could see the pilot through the kitchen window, but again it was totally silent. He said it scared the piss out of him.

I have to admit I didn’t get this directly from him, he told my husband and my husband relayed it to me. In my mind, it wasn’t as far fetched as many people believed, but unfortunately he never talked to me about these things. Although, he did tell me to be careful of the man who lives across the street, the man I call “corner dude”, because he’s always standing on the corner with his little dog, looking in our direction. “Don’t trust him,” was what he said. “I drive by all the time and he’s always watching your house.”

Now this friend lived a couple blocks away and I’ve worked with him at construction sites. He certainly didn’t look unhealthy and ready to drop dead. He didn’t have the blue lips or the shortness of breath I have seen in others about to drop dead.

He also spoke with my husband of the multi-million (if not billion) dollar new NSA communication web on our local fort. We’ve just moved back to the state, so I am not aware of local politics or where money has been allocated, but I did meet an English man, a Russian and an Australian at a local bar who claimed to work there. When I questioned what they did, they deflected my questions and flirted with me. Nice accents and all, but when I cozied in and asked questions of the youngest and the drunkest, the Australian, the Englishman grabbed him and escorted him away without a word.

Anyway, my friend died this weekend. He was just over at the house a week or so ago. He was one, of the few, my little snarky dog actually liked. I am sad.

I'm sorry Turtles. Friends come into our lives for a reason and a season. Wish your season had been longer.

Thanks.

I didn't think about all the conspiracy stuff until my husband and I were sitting in the yard, speaking of the loss.

Weird stuff.

He was a good drummer sad

Re: Lost A Friend.... A Conspiracy Theorist.
My friend used to drop in, and as much as I dislike unannounced company, I'd let him in. And if I was cooking, I'd feed him. He'd always compliment the meal and say, people don't cook this way anymore. I cook from scratch.

I wish he would have spoken to me of his strange experiences.

Yes, Nine's, now I'm looking over all he said in our brief time back together and I'm trying to remember our past.

I'm pretty sure we kissed once, lol, long ago.

But I'm curious to what he told my husband.

I've known him for 25 years, but as life has it, we lost touch until the last months.

Maybe he didn't tell your husband anything about long ago. He must have had reasons he shared some things with him, others with you. I'm glad you guys got back together before he died. I'm sure it enriched the last part of his life. Pay attention to what he told you about the "corner dude". He noticed that for a reason. hugs
