I have friends among the American troops in Iraq, as well as sympathy for the resistance forces they have been ordered to attack.

My hope is that a big battle can be avoided.

There is absolutely no reason to believe that Bush will not order a neutron bomb to be exploded over Falluja, killing all the defenders, but leaving the buildings intact. There is no depth of evil to which the American leadership will not stoop.

So my advice to the defenders is to fight your way out of Falluja, and live to fight another day.
