Anonymer Held User ID: 78448 United States 04/06/2006 06:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Man! Here in NYC we got these rats. Big rats. And you know, they get bolder and bolder when nothing happens to them. Like in the park. Used to just scurry away, but now? They'll just walk up to a family sunning themselves on their picnic blanket and start eating their food. Reminds me of these Bushites. They've gotten positively brazen. Used to just rely on gremlin-related plane accidents and now? Using the tactics they used on the microbiologists. Nothing happened to them then...and nothing will happen to them now. |

Jeb Bradley Joseph E. "Jeb" Bradley (born October 1952 in Rumford, Maine) is a member of the United States House of Representatives for the first district of New Hampshire(map). Bradley served in the New Hampshire House for twelve years. He was known for sponsoring the Clean Power Act, which set limits on power plant emissions. He was first elected to Congress in 2002, winning the Republican nomination in a field of eight candidates. He defeated Democrat Martha Fuller Clark in the general election. In 2004, Bradley easily defeated Justin Nadeau of Portsmouth to win a second term. Bradley is considered a moderate Republican. While a staunch supporter of the war in Iraq and an early supporter of the White House plan to add private accounts to Social Security, Bradley opposed President Bush's energy bill and has co-sponsored bills to loosen regulations on embryonic stem cell research. Bradley serves on the Armed Services, Budget, Veterans' Affairs and Small Business committees. Bradley is a graduate of Tufts University. He was a small business owner before entering politics. Bradley resides in Wolfeboro, NH, and is known as an avid rock climber. [edit] 2006 election Bradley is expected to seek a third term in fall 2006, and as of yet has no primary opposition. At least five candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination, while another is running as a Libertarian. Anonymous Coward User ID: 26535 United States 04/07/2006 08:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Info on Gary Dodds It would help if we had a pic of Gary Dodds. Corbin to manage Dodds Congressional campaign By JAMES W. PINDELL PoliticsNH.com PORTSMOUTH, Dec. 6 - A former state representative who worked elect Congressman Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) then two years later considered challenging him will now manage a race for one of the 2006 Democratic candidates. Corey Corbin, of Sandown, has signed on to be the campaign manager for Gary Dodds (D-Rye) in his campaign for Congress, PoliticsNH.com has learned. The pair only met two weeks ago. A week later they were going over the details of his employment. "We met and I was telling him that he needs to hire a campaign manager and what he should tell the manager to focus on," Corbin said. "Then after some time I stopped and said 'you know we can just cut the middle man and I can do it'." In 2002, Corbin served as the Sandown chair for Bradley's first Congressional run. By 2003 he became a Democrat and endorsed Joe Lieberman's presidential campaign. Last year he ran unsuccessfully against for the State Senate against Sen. Jack Barnes (R-Raymond). He said that after working on his own campaign and of many campaigns in Maine he has the experience to help Dodds, a virtual political newcomer. Corbin said he will worked to correct some of the challenges Dodds's campaign faces like name recognition and fund-raising. "I know that if by February you can't tell the [Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee] that you have $300,000 or $400,000 in the bank they aren't interested," Corbin said. Dodds, a magazine executive and historical preservationist, is one of four people who have announced his bid for the First Congressional District nomination to challenge the Republican Bradley. Dodds has opened an office and hired a small amount of staff and two interns. He already has an office in Portsmouth and is expected to open a second office on Elm Street in Manchester in the next few weeks. [link to politicsnh.com] |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26535 United States 04/07/2006 08:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Congressional Candidates for 2006: A Full List (Northeast) by MrLiberal, Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:12:50 PM EST (Crossposted from Dailykos.com) Part 1 of 5-Covering New England and the Mid-Atlantic (down to Maryland) First, I want to say that just like all of my fellow Kossacks I am shocked by the tragedy going on not just in New Orleans, but all along the Gulf Coast. I will hope for the best, but even the best case scenario seems tragic in the utmost. Right before Katrina struck, I wrote the following article: I've put together this little compendium of Democratic candidates for Congress in 2006 in order to help facilitate volunteer and funding efforts in the right directions. I will list every candidate in the running, as anyone with the right efforts can prevail in most seats. Next to each candidate I've made a note with either OAR (Off and Running), LTR (Likely to Run) or STR (Speculative to Run). The number next to the seat name is the percentage the seat was won with in the last election. I hope this proves useful for everyone here. If you know of anyone else in the bidding for Congress (House or Senate), let us know here. Thanks! Should Corzine win in 2005, he will appoint his successor under New Jersey law. If he appoints one of the Congressmen (either Andrews or Menendez are most likely), then the rest are less likely to run (and probably none of them will). Should he appoint a "caretaker" Senator, most of the state's seven Democratic Congressmen (including Rush Holt and Steve Rothman) may take a shot at the seat. As a result, NJ-01, NJ-06 and NJ-13 only can be seen as having potential Democratic candidates at this time. NJ-01: Open seat? Three months from now I'll update it again to see what's changed. I'll also mark which candidates are ahead of the pack and which seats are considered competitive by the insiders. Next week, we'll go to the Midwest (WV as well) to see what's up in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri. See you there! When you say that she's a "frequent candidate," do you mean that she's the usual sacrificial lamb they run against Snowe, or do you mean that she's a Harold Stassen-type who runs in every primary and never wins? by craverguy on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:23:02 PM EST Re: I like Jean Hay Bright. (none / 0) The latter, sorry to say. by MrLiberal on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:26:41 PM EST [ Parent ] Re: I like Jean Hay Bright. (none / 0) I actually think that she could have a chance in this primary. Dennis Kucinich is extremely popular with Maine Democrats and her connection to him could help her case. Also, Snowe's polling numbers are so high that most of the "serious candidates" might opt out. by craverguy on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:32:07 PM EST [ Parent ] Re: I like Jean Hay Bright. (none / 0) I agree with you, craverguy. Barring some unexpected new candidate, Bright should get the nod. Whether she'll do any better than Mike Lawrence (30% in 2000)is anyone's guess. by MrLiberal on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:34:52 PM EST [ Parent ] Re: I like Jean Hay Bright. (none / 0) Personally, I was sold when I read this: Memberships Maine Progressive Caucus (Board member currently) MOFGA (Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association) (Board Member 1988-89) (Certified Organic Grower since 1987) National Organization for Women (NOW) American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Peace & Justice Center, Bangor Unitarian Universalist Church, Ellsworth Maine Media Women Good Life Center, Harborside Maine (no longer active) (Board of Stewards 1995-2003) by craverguy on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:37:29 PM EST [ Parent ] Why can't we pick up New Hampsure house seats... (none / 0) one is 51-48 for Bush the other is 52-47 for Kerry. so why can't we win these!!! also somone should challenge Castle in Deleware. by Liberal on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:42:03 PM EST Re: Why can't we pick up New Hampsure house seats. (none / 0) that's the advantage of incumbency. Castle is popular in Delaware -- he's a former Governor. he could very well move into the Senate if Biden is really serious about running for President in 2008. by johnny longtorso on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 08:27:38 PM EST [ Parent ] Re: Why can't we pick up New Hampsure house seats. (none / 0) Eh i wonder Castle isn't getting any younger though im kinda surprized he hasn't thought about contesting Carper's seat oh well i don't know much about DE politics myself. Also on NH i still think that somone out of that entire state could put up a challenge. by Liberal on Thu Sep 01, 2005 at 11:46:43 PM EST [ Parent ] Kevin Scott is a moron. (3.00 / 1) From his website: "We citizens of Massachusetts deserve 2 party representation in Washington D.C. and right now we do not have it! Currently all 10 of Massachusetts House of Representatives members are Democrats, and both Senators are Democrats. Regardless of whether you are a Democrat or Republican, it is obvious that this needs to change. This imbalance also gives the false impression to the rest of the country that the voters of Massachusetts are completely controlled by 'liberal democrats.'" Well, gee, Kevin, you think maybe the reason that Massachusetts' entire Congressional delegation is made up of liberal Democrats might be that just about everyone in Massachusetts is a liberal Democrat? by craverguy on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 04:58:10 PM EST Re: Kevin Scott is a moron. (none / 0) well maybe Democrats deserve Representation in UT,ID,WY,AK,NE,NH but sadly these states are very Republican just as MA is very Democratic live with it Kevin Scott. by Liberal on Fri Sep 02, 2005 at 10:38:22 PM EST [ Parent ] Ed Towns = loser (none / 0) I can't believe no one is challenging Towns for the umpteenth time - he's such a waste of a DINO in an 80% dem district - voted for EVERY one of Bush's energy bills in the last 5 years. by brooklyngreenie on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 05:42:28 PM EST Sweeney (none / 0) I hate that guy. Played a big part in intimidating Florida vote-counters in 2000, among other things. Rep'ing the district I grew up in. Pretty conservative area overall but certainly winnable. Not 1 freaking Democrat? His website hasn't been updated since 2002... the lyceum by mattgabe on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 07:10:17 PM EST Thanks (none / 0) for compiling and posting the list. I have recommended, and would like to request other readers to do the same. Neo CLICK to Draft Al Gore! by NeoLiberal on Wed Aug 31, 2005 at 08:00:39 PM EST NJ-02 Challenger (none / 0) The possible challenger against Frank LoBiondo in the NJ-02, Robin Benjamin Weinstein, has a website up at www.voteweinstein.com that wasn't mentioned in the list above. He seems like a good guy, hopefully he will be able to oust LoBiondo. [link to annatopia.mydd.com] |
