brother man (OP) User ID: 36732316 United States 03/23/2013 05:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been reading The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts. It is very interesting and challenging reading. You have to have an open mind because Jane Roberts channeled the material. Here is an excerpt from a random site about Jane Roberts and beliefs: Remember, you must always keep an open mind! As Seth says, "You form the fabric of your experience through your own beliefs and expectations. You take your beliefs about reality as truth, and often do not question them. They are not recognized as beliefs about reality, but instead considered characteristics of reality itself. Frequently such ideas appear indisputable, so a part of you that it does not occur to you to speculate about their validity. They become invisible assumptions, but they nevertheless color and form your personal experience. Some people, for example, do not question their religious beliefs but accept them as fact. Others find it comparatively easy to recognize such inner assumptions when they appear in a religious context, but are quite blind to them in other areas." You must never forget what Seth says next, "Your conscious mind is always trying to give you a clear picture, but you often allow preconceived ideas to block out this intelligence" [link to www.whatismetaphysics.com] Peace |

Took some LSD and found Jesus... quite literally. Anyway, life before was pretty laid back, had a good job, was going to school, single, always had money to spend on cool stuff. Now its a struggle, living paycheck to paycheck, married, job outlook is uncertain, and somehow every spare penny parts ways and goes to those that have less food than I do. All in all, while life has gotten harder, it's also become more rewarding and more meaningful. I wouldn't trade anything for the life I'm living right now. That said, winning the lotto is always welcome, I've always wanted to retire early and have my own off the grid, self sustaining commune complete with hydroponic garden, chickens, fish pond, garage, recording studio and workshop... a man can dream... |

These are the kind of beliefs that need to be examined. For example, spirituality and having money are incompatible, or that spirituality means deprivation. These are the kind of beliefs that do lead to that very experience as all beliefs lead to their fruition. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20581494 One has to examine very closely one's beliefs. For example, if you believe that money is evil then it will not change your circumstances even though you say "I now believe I deserve money". The belief structure can be somewhat complicated. I suggest reading The Nature of Personal Reality if you want to really examine your beliefs. Also, their is a time lag between really changing one's beliefs and the physical experience of having more money. Of course it then requires action in line with your changed beliefs. Belief structures may or may not be difficult to change. |

Actually believed it, not 4000 years old, but that God was sort of the greatest scientist of all and guided things along. Angels were real in some capcity and God could change things that God didn't like. God championed the good and punished the bad. Then I invaded a country and was in that place for eighteen months of soul crushing. The saying "There are no Atheists in fox-holes," is complete BS as I lost what "faith" I had. Shortly after I got my degree and that just made matters worse. The change was unintentional, but now I rather enjoy. My thirst for knowledge both crazy-conspiracy and rational-mainstream is all but unquenchable. Leading me to such places as this in some of my free time. Which I have a lot of til thursday-ish. |
