You are absolutely right. All true.

There comes a time when it is not enough to simply take a stand- you have to fight with everything you've got.

At 80% it no longer a levy. It's seizure of assets. Confiscation. Usually certain conditions must apply before a country can do this. For instance an ongoing war.

Don't you just hate it when they give an action a catchy name to disguise a fact.

Haircut= Theft.

You earn a living wage, they Tax it.
You buy anything, they Tax it.
You buy fuel to access work, they tax it.
And tax you annually for the privlige.

Then they give you no option but to be paid into a bank account.....then they STEAL it.

Erm..who's not a slave?

Russian businesses and banks that face losses from the European Union's bailout of Cyprus are considering legal action but may have a hard time making a case, say lawyers who are combing through treaties find strategies to recover funds.

Big depositors- many of them Russian — face losses of up to 40 percent as the result of a so-called "bail-in" to back 10 billion euros ($13 billion) in EU financial aid to stabilize the Cypriot banking system.

It's going to become standard procedure.
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would sit there with money in the bank right now a not take measures to safeguard it.

Good way to spread the losses around.
The country the branch is located in will have to pay to cover the insured funds.
So London will have to pay.
Not sure if Moscow insures funds deposited in banks , they may not.

Yeah that's how the Russioans managed to withdraw their funds.
The Cypriots are stuck in Cyprus though where they are limited to 100 euro's a day. How are they going to get to London on that?
If they could have I'm sure they would have by now.
These delay tactics by their government kept them pacified and hopeful. They strung them along long enough and now it's too late. Can't get to London on 100 euro's.
