Welcome to the new world folks, you no longer own your savings or bank balance, it can now be confiscated without recourse We now have to assume that anything else we own can be stolen from us by the appropriate authorities without recourse to law. This is now a world where 'NEED' is more important than ownership, and the 'NEEDS' of the influential are 'greater' than those of anybody elses. Only a brain dead fool would trust the banks AND the governments, and both have to be trustworthy in order for your money to be safe in the banks

'QA' in the US of A achieves the same thing by devaluing the currency, making your savings worth less, so the theft has been done to you many, many times already.... Quoting: tbear4 37002857 I don't know why it couldn't happen. The only bright side is they didn't take the "insured" funds. The USA has FDIC insurance and Cyprus has insurance to protect up to a certain amount of depositor money. IF they had stolen funding from everyone's account, that would have been completely another story. So, now we at least have the illusion that the insured portion is still protected.
