It's not just people who support the particular action, alot of it is people just looking for any excuse to kill. I have talked to marines who say they all know its bullshit, and that they joke about it amongst themselves. I'm sure there are some people who really believe they are defending freedom or whatever other bullshit they say for a particular war, but I think they are the exception, not the rule. They know it's bullshit, they don't care.

They have nothing else to lose.

Probably one of the reasons that soldiers shouldn't ask too many questions, just follow orders whether a cause is just or unjust. In the sense of war being a racket they fight more for the rich to become even more rich, up to the point that the world should sacrifice itself in nuclear war while they count their wealth in a bunker, to hide from the crap they helped to create. Not one of the most noble of causes if you ask me.
