What are the original numbers? Percentages are hard to interpret when the incidence is low to begin with and fluctuate over time. Also, rates of hyperthyroidism should be irrelevant b/c radioactive iodine is actually used to treat hyperthyroidism....but could cause HYPOthyroidism. |

It's that most people in the US are deficient in Iodine because of Bromine its in sooo much of our food it blocks our ability to absorb iodine. It's why most americans have messed up thyroids and why thyroid cancer is increasing rapidly. The type of iodine you take is what really matters. Not as an emergency but on a daily basis as part of a routine. From what I've read potassium iodine is the best one to take. Our diet is horrible here & for a country where most people are overweight it's ironic that the root cause is we all have vitamin deficiencies. But its sooo true!! I bought kelp and am getting a thyroid herbal blend which contains potassium iodine from iherb. I want to get spirolina and try the benotite!! Now we have to be super careful buying kelp pills because the kelp is radioactive in cali now too. My niece is a very healthy 22 year old. Our family and the husbands family have no history of anything like this. 2 more of our family friends have lost babies in the last few months of pregnancy in the last 6 months. It's scary. |

I'm not saying it isn't effective. I'm saying that people are distracted by this when they should be worried about the myriad of other fission products that are never mentioned. I-131 is only one of them.. half-life of 8 days.. [link to hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu] [snip] When uranium-235 undergoes fission, the average of the fragment mass is about 118, but very few fragments near that average are found. It is much more probable to break up into unequal fragments, and the most probable fragment masses are around mass 95 and 137. Most of these fission fragments are highly unstable (radioactive), and some of them such as cesium-137 and strontium-90 are extremely dangerous when released to the environment. Cesium-137 and strontium-90 are the most dangerous radioisotopes to the environment in terms of their long-term effects. Their intermediate half-lives of about 30 years suggests that they are not only highly radioactive but that they have a long enough halflife to be around for hundreds of years. Iodine-131 may give a higher initial dose, but its short halflife of 8 days ensures that it will soon be gone. Besides its persistence and high activity, cesium-137 has the further insidious property of being mistaken for potassium by living organisms and taken up as part of the fluid electrolytes. This means that it is passed on up the food chain and reconcentrated from the environment by that process. Last Edited by Waterbug on 04/04/2013 09:36 AM |

Thank you! ~Rae There was no shorter way for grandma to tell us her story. WARNING: Graphic pictures of actual mutations in human babies. DO NOT watch if this is disturbing to you!!! Not intended for children viewing!!! This is a fictional story line based on the dangers of Nuclear Power, Fracking and Fossil fuels, not to mention the steady onset of wars. (fictional means not true ...yet, for those that wonder) The year is 2032 and a great grandmother is writing her heirs, (all people of earth) that may have survived the "Black Day Disaster" Her message pertaining to the history of how the world got so bad is meant to be an awakening to those that, even after Chernobyl and the ongoing Fukushima Daiichi catastrophies, still believe that Nuclear Power is safe and clean. The story line though fictional is based on actual disasters and facts. Facts that can be followed up in the news around the world. We can only hope, enough people join together demanding change in the way our system of government is run, that we can implement changes in order to save Mother Earth and all mankind. Saving mankind from himself, I might add. Many of us are doing what we can to aid in an awakening to truth. TRUTH is, nuclear power, fossil fuel usage, and natural gas for fuel is not needed, energy is alive and is everywhere. The technology is blocked by GREED. The barrier is no more than money and the love of it at any expense, ...including life! end quote. absorbing more and more everyday..... Fuckin insane, and we know it... One fuckin earthquake away...
