Rohde's story as quoted in the drone report: “The drones were terrifying. From the ground, it is impossible to determine who or what they are tracking as they circle overhead. The buzz of a distant propeller is a constant reminder of imminent death.” Describing the experience of living under drones as ‘hell on earth,’ Rohde explained that even in the areas where strikes were less frequent, the people living there still feared for their lives.

Many in the United States may discount the importance of such a story, pointing out that such an existence is the price of harboring terrorists and those intent on threatening the national security of the United States.

One wonders if that attitude will change in the next couple of years when 30,000 drones fill the skies of the United States. Will we come to know the ever-present sound of a “distant propeller” stirring up the otherwise placid domestic skies with the inimitable buzz of imminent death? Will we live in constant fear of “when is the next drone attack going to happen” as one mental health professional hears daily from the men and women of Waziristan?"

Here's the deal. Pakistan is a nuclear weaponed nation, with full IRBM missle fleet, and soon very soon will be launching (if it already hasn't) launched a satellite in to orbit.

The reason for the drone use in places like pak,yemen, and some other hell holes is because we do not have soldiers on the ground in these countries who can go after these targets. That, coupled with the fact that said countries are unwilling or unable to handle the problem themselves is the only reason for the drone attacks.
THERE WOULD NEVER BE A DRONE STRIKE ON US TERRITORY! Drones are only used as a substitute when the target can not be captured, which is always preferred as you can collect intelligence. Drone strikes leave little to no intelligence.

Civilian casualties are greatly exaggerated and are far less than there would be with a ground war.

I have been following the drones since the beginning. If you believe that the US is targeting anyone they deem to be a militant with drone strikes and could only find 48 targets in all of 2012, I would suggest you follow your own advice on growing a brain.
If they were targeting all military aged males in the region there would be more like 10 to 20 strikes per day.
