The announcement he's going to be tried in civilian court has me scratching my head. It's a good sign I think, but with this bunch of yahoo's a good sign is usually laced with something more sinister...

Looking through the affidavit of the FBI agent, they have all sorts-o-videos showing these two walking, placing the bombs, and walking away, within a 10 minute period, apparently the second placement he walked away within 10 seconds.

Boy, I would LOVE to see those videos. Why is it that we can see a body of a dead man but we can't see these guys placing ANY thing? Just release it and I will believe it. Good god.

Whats even more interesting is that they had NO video evidence to speak of the first bomb being planted, just that he "walked in the direction of the first explosion"...

Nuclear weapons, mustard gas, sarin nerve agent, pressure cooker... One of these things doesn't belong here. One of these things isn't the same.

I don't think it definitively means that there is no video of the first bag being dropped, just that it's not necessarily relevant for these specific charges.

You are just going to have to wait. It takes a lot of time to build a video like that.

Legally now the Federal Government can call any type of explosive device a WMD.

Iraq did have WMD's because their army had hand grenades,ain't it cool.

Miranda rights have NOTHING to do with a lawful arrest.

They are only needed if the police question you after an arrest.

"They" say this kid had a WMD, and they "also" say Iraq with tanks and bombs and guns and fighter jets didn't have WMDs is just so beyond stupid it boggles the mind.

If they want the death penalty, they don't need to try to get trumped up charges to stick. He murdered several people in a premeditated fashion and wounded dozens more, that's all you need for the needle if the prosecution is so inclined.

This kind of shit worries me, first I hear they want to try him as an enemy combatant and now I hear they're charging him with the use of WMDs.

How long is it before ANY crime you commit becomes "terrorism" and you're shipped off to Gitmo where you'll be deprived of the rights guaranteed by the constitution. I know the government would love not having to worry about violating our rights and has been looking for ways to take them away for a while.

Accused of robbery, or burglary, or drug possession, or concealed firearm without a permit or anything else? TERRORISM! No trial 4 you! Off to Gitmo you go, terrorist scum!

It's not too far fetched anymore to worry that that's what's going to happen soon.

What is or isnt a "weapon of mass destruction" needs to be standardized.

In international use, the term only refers to nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons.

In the US, the term is much broader:
