Karma is given to you by others based on posts....or whims sometimes.
Green is positive karma....red negative karma.

"Msmithspeanut1 has not received any karma votes yet."

In a nutshell, kharma is GLP currency.
It has variable value depending what you spend it on.
100 kharma points upgrades your acct. for a month.
It costs US$10/month so each kharma point is valued at US$.10
200 points to upgrade somebody else, so in this instance,
1 kharma point is valued at US$.05

10 points for a global pin (thread stays on page 1 for a few hours). Some here would say that is valued way more than US$1.00.

a red thumbs down gives the poster: red or negative karma

the karma system is anonymous... unless you sign your username/handle to it... the choice is yours.

No signing someones name to the karma you give, thats a no no...

otherwise karma is earned by the 'value' of your posts... if folks like your posts, they will leave you green... if they dont like them.... red...

the red can get kinda mean...

and everyone who has been here a while knows not to complain about red... cos complaining about red will earn you more red...

How do you see what post you received the karma for? And how do you post .gifs and pictures inside the post without having to use links? bbcode?

You can't.
You need to be a member I think. And upload them as a custom smiley.
