The entire evil of welfare is that it supports a situation which nature is trying to restrict.

He was collecting welfare probably because he declared his son and wife as dependents and he was unemployed. A single guy rarely gets welfare benefits. Food stamps, medicaid, maybe SSI or disability, but not welfare.
