Cargo Ship Carrying 700 Tons of Gold Vanishes in Sea of Okhotsk Off Russia

A cargo ship carrying 700 tons of gold ore has vanished late Sunday in the Sea of Okhotsk. A distress beacon was reportedly activated late Sunday, but Russian rescue operations have had no success locating the wreckage or survivors:
A sonar distress beacon was automatically activated near Feklistov Island in the Shantarsk Archipelago on Sunday, Russia’s Emergency Ministry reported. The tanker Novik was the first to arrive at the scene, but found no wreckage or survivors. The rescue operation was complicated by severe weather, and waves up to four meters high.

In other news, the Fed reported Monday that Germany will be allowed to repatriate a portion of it’s gold reserves after all.

Cargo carrier Amurskoe disappeared in the Sea of Okhotsk while carrying 700 tons of gold ore. Three ships, an amphibious aircraft and a helicopter are undertaking search and rescue operations to find the eight crewmembers of the lost vessel.

This is a big deal. I think it is about to get very serious, very soon. When they start taking physical possession in droves, I think that is the sign.

We all know something is going on. We may not know what, but we know something is about to happen. This is the sign.

All the stocks, bonds, etc floating about, but none of them have any real value if things go to hell in a hand basket. Physical possission of PM, now that's what you need when the economy falls apart.

Which begs the question of why are prices not spiking.
There is either heavy manipulation or the physical that moved was not purchased and had other plans for it.

I'm guessing there will be a good steady climb now. The mob smashed down metals a week or so ago and thought the unwashed peasants would sell in a panic. They did the opposite. JPM can only short metals for so long before the house of cards falls down. I'm baffled they've been able to kick the can down the road for so long. I'm still waiting on my ASE shipment from 2 weeks ago from a local dealer.

no way I could "loose" at the price I bought in at ... so I'll just sit back and watch ... the demand has got to make it more valuable - but that's not what we are seeing

my local dealer has either been out, or just refused to sell at such a rediculous price ... he had rounds that he was offering (limit ten per customer) at FOUR BUCKS OVER spot... no thank you - not today

so if i never had gold to begin with it was others gold i can just say opps i lost it ?

Local coin shop sold-out of silver eagles and don't expect more for at least 2 months. This after raising prices from spot+$6 to a new spot+$8.
Rounds are plentiful @ spot+$3.
