A comment made on a post of mine by someone: All deformed babies should be terminated - why should society pay for something useless? [poll]

I would have to say NO..

Speaking as a father of a soon to be 2-year old.....
If you have experienced the joy of helping your child into this world, cutting the cord and holding him/her....feeling their little fingers close around yours and knowing that you are their whole world......

It would take someone completely inhuman to say otherwise.

I don't care ...if my son had been born with down syndrome, spinal bifida and a tail.....you come anywhere near him and you'll find out just who is going to be terminated pretty damn fast.

I was "supposed" to be a vegetable, not able to walk or talk. Yet here I am now. Life is precious. Who is deformed? The child or the one who kills it.

congrats for the 'terrible twos' :)... they get passed it.... until the terrible 16's.... GRIN

and to the one star bandit?...... i have two children... and regardless of how they arrived i would have love them.... it was not my comment, but that from another.....

maybe i'll change the title....

Thanks!....he's actually uncommonly sweet and patient...have been greatly blessed there....never even cried or got fussy through teething...even the molars...

16 is another story...LOL! If he's anything like I was at that age, I'm in trouble...

Generally there should be a lot more abortions. You republicans wan't deformed babies on medicare, welfare, food stamps, disability? Have the government fund and promote abortions, much cheaper alternative and not a moral issue.

Deformed and otherwise mentally challenged people have chosen a unique point of view for this incarnation. They are learning something as well as are the individuals who care for them. What they are learning may not be obvious to us, but nevertheless it exists.
