and the fire is growing there, it is so windy, dry and hot
in all of Southern Cal....Dangerous...Helicopters cannot get off the ground right now..

Embers are causing spot fires....

they just mentioned 2 schools on lockdown...one gun found, swat entering now...

NEVER leave your home during a fire if you are in or near a USDA Forest Service zone. These scumbags will loot your home, as will local cops. During the fires of 08 I saw cop cars with trailers looting nearby homes, even taking appliances because they thought the neighborhood was safe for their crimes and void of residents.

Bad situation...6 more hours of sustained winds around 40 mph... fire will likely cross the Pacific Coast Highway (which is about to be closed) and possibly burn to the ocean according to Ventura County Fire Dept.

Another Fire breaks out in San Bernadino CA..

The "Springs" fire in Camarillo/Newbury Park in Ventura County has grown to 6,500 acres. 0% containment. They've just grounded fixed-wing tankers because the wind is so bad. There are houses all over that place. I used to go to school right there too. Hoping it won't burn down. Best CSU in Cali.

Pesticides and probably a million bucks worth of farm equipment have gone up. It looks like my school is surrounded by fire. The Santa Anas are still blasting the area.

I wouldn't want to be breathing that smoke! Strawberry pesticides are nasty. Am surprised they couldn't spare an engine or water drop while that fire was small.

They are 'Santana Winds'.

Closeup just showed equipment that someone could have used to push stuff apart before it caught fire. There had been people there earlier.

usually during santa anas my house is almost blown down and its hot.
it's peacefully calm outside and only 71 degrees out.

the fire dept always use airplane water dumps on wild fires even during "santa anas". they are not using them at all today blaming it "on the wind".
if it was soooooo windy, they would not "just let the fire burn out".

I did feel the santa anas. Not in chura or the nard, but in cam and simi. It is weird about the fixed wing being up. Usually if it's too windy for fixed wing, isn't it also too dangerous for helicopters?

Anyhow, now we get to inhale pesticides.
