I can understand where you are coming from concerning someone being falsly accused, that would be a difficult one, apparently this is what happened to Lord McAlpine,he managed to get off with it by claiming he had never been to North Wales around the time that the crimes took place, incidently Jimmy McAlpine, now dead is believed to be the culprit and he lived in North Wales.
Then there is Stuart Hall, another tv personality, he was arrested and denied everything until just last week when it was revealed that he has admitted to raping girls as young as 9.

Those factors almost certainly mean that the memories don't exist. People do NOT remember things with exactly the same words, descriptors or even the same basic information.
