the OT contains passages which some interpret as violent ... but this is a false interpretation , because in reality upon close examination violence is only condoned when it is done by God ( not humans ) and when it prevents even worse things from occuring , and is the ONLY way to prevent the worse things . also the OT has verses condemning violence so that helps us realize that the verses that seem to condone violence arent condoning unwarranted violence since passages in the same places condemn it . It can not be said of the quran though that it advocates pacifism in places ....
