i need legal advice ! i was brought to a hospitol against my will after crazy people claimed i was suicidal! what are my rights? please help!

I would think what state you are in would matter a lot. I'm in Florida and we have the Baker Act which means someone can be held for 72 hours for an evaluation after something minor as making a threat. You get out and get a 10K bill for the stay. My former GF had it happen to her and had her bank account seized at one point.

It also depends on how old you are.

My bad im in stlouis mo and if there is anyone who happens to work in the area that could offer me advice i would be very appreciative.

if you weren't charged with anything then you should be fine.. now as for doing the drug rehab maybe it is the best thing for you.. hang in there.. things might just work out for the best in this situation^

look up free legal aid for st. louis. There are offices that can answer your question.

this sounds like an option you might want to look into for the near future.. just get yourself organized and do it right.. you dont want to be in more of a hard place than you already are..

I think i handled it as well as any reasonable & law abbiding person would have considering i was in my own home minding my own business one minute & the next thing i knew i had a house full of cops & no rights what so ever. I spent ten days being mocked & threatened by nazi nurses who fed me drugs the entire time i was there.

I think i was kept there as long as possible because i was screaming a bit & told everyone that all of my rights are being violated & i wanted to go the F home! One of the nurses told me it would move along faster if i took a shower and participated in group activities! I told her she was nfucking nuts and i wasnt taking any showers! like i said before, i broke no laws and was never arrested or read m rights. any rational person could have easily assertained that i was not a danger to anyone or myself.there was more to this , i knew it was comimg. i just wonder whats next.

tell them you're "a sovereing" it's an automatic get out of the nuthouse free card, also instantly wins all court cases!!

there is nothing you can do.. play the system.. stay out of trouble.. wait.. then the choice is yours.

Ive had it done 2 me im sorry but you probably wont be able to do anything about it.
I volunteered to go in once and I was not allowed out until 3 months later. Stay strong and ask for a lawyer.

a sovering, interesting, ill look into that. as for the "crazy card" , i dont plan on needing to defend myself in court any time soon and i want to stay as far away from being clasified as not sane by the state. those hospitols & drs are one of my worst nightmares.

don't go down that route unless you spend at least 5 or so years researching it thoroughly there is 99% disinfo on the net about it, for obvious reasons.

i dont have a drug problem. i chose to be on heroin to escape the reality i live in. i planned on stopping at a certain time if i didnt die first because i feel like i have a higher calling.

I found out yesterday that nothing will happen to me after dissobeying a judges orders to go to impatient rehab for 30 days.

i think i some friends in very high places who have helped me like this before.

Yeah, sounds like treatment is the right place for you. You should seek voluntary outpatient on your own if you wanna avoid involuntary commitment. The outpatient docs are much easier to deal with, and you'll have someone to vouch for you if johnny law comes looking for you again.

You basically just told us that you're a mildly suicidal heroin addict. I've been suicidal, and I've been addicted to opiates, although not heroin specifically. I have a rough idea of where you're at mentally. A good psych doc will get you pills that make your reality good enough that you won't feel the need to escape it anymore, or therapy to help you get along without pills.

Those docs don't work in hospitals though. Hospital psych docs don't give a fuck about you. You need to call around and see if any private practices/clinics are accepting new patients, or get a referral from a doc you know and like. Also finding a good criminal defense lawyer might not be a bad idea because the cops know you shoot up, there's a decent chance they'll come looking for you at some point since you ditched rehab.

If you resist treatment, it's pretty likely that you'll end up 1) involuntarily committed to a state hospital 2) in prison or 3) on the run from the law until either 1 or 2 happens. Trust me dude, get off the smack and get your head straight. Kicking opiates is fucking HARD, but it's worth it. My doc gave me clonidine which helped with the withdrawal, and it's not a replacement addiction like methadone or suboxone. So you could take the initiative and get clean on your terms, or get committed and enjoy the forced injections. Been there. You don't want to go there.
