The WMD's are not important in Syria. If they were America would not be arming Al Qaeda and letting them get anywhere near them lest some turn up missing.
I thought Al Qaeda lew up the World trade Center and were being hunted,oh well.
The objective is to kick Russia out of the Ports drive their nuclear subs out of the region and continue to strangle Russia and China with encirclement.

Its not even about Assad really either.
Once encircled the process of destabilization of China and Russia can begin to keep them far far away from trading with Africa in any way whatsoever.
Every conflict in the "Middle East" is about keeping control of Africa's resources for Europe and destroying any chance China and Russia have of direct trade relations with Black Africa.
The other goal is to destabilize Africa enough that they beg for Africom which is currently in Stuttgart Germany to be moved to Africa to "Save" them from Al-Qaeda effectively recolonizing Africa so China and Russia are even further blocked from Trading directly with Black Africa.
Qaddafi was killed for fighting the Africom plans and letting Black Africa know What NATO had planned.
Qaddafi also was determined to have an independent Africa so he opened some of his oil field for direct trade with China.
Europe and America refuse to let go of the Master Slave relationship the have enjoyed for 500 years over Africa and they are working together once again with their Saudi Muslim partners as they did during the trans Atlantic slave trade to destabilize Africa and control it through Jihad and colonization.
The Jihadists are a combination of co conspirators who are
agents of NATO and useful Muslim idiots who are true

As for Al Qaeda, you are onto something. In order to get rid of Gaddafi, Western countries armed lots of riff raff rebels. Immediately after the war ended, those very arms ended up in the hands of Muslim extremist fighters in Mali. That's why the same Western powers rushed in to quell the rebellion. Basically, Al Qaeda almost took over an entire nation.
Is this a fight for resources? Of course it is. But the control of those resources has been in Western powers' hands. In the last couple of decades, Africans have been waking up. With the end of the Cold War, America found itself competing for the resources with a capitalist Russia and a growing China. China's investments in Africa now equal America's, dollar for dollar. However Chinese investments are more long term and will quickly outstrip America's. Africans no longer dish out their resources for free. This growing sense of self by Africans, coupled with an increasing sense of fairness in the Western population (leaders simply can't get away with crap for a long time) is dreaded by Western leaders.
Will this be the cause of WWIII? I doubt it. For one thing, the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Mali and now Syria have enabled Al-Qaeda to re-organize. Instead of being some underground low-tech Lone Ranger, other militant groups are coalescing around the ideal. Don't be fooled by Saudi Arabia. The main founders of fundamentalist Islam are believed to be the very people shaking hands with Western leaders all the time.
The Israel/Palestine problem will be the spark that lights the fire, IMO. All it takes is for one party to do some serious damage and the whole world will divide itself into alliances again.
Perhaps if there are all these natural disasters people seem to be fascinated by, Africa and especially Sub-Saharan Africa will become a factor. There will be a need for land to resettle people. The only real place with huge tracts of fertile, virgin land is Sub-Saharan Africa. Somehow I don't see that happening yet.

WWIII started when Saddam was baited into invading Kuwait In operation Desert Shield. This didn't start with PNAC and the Neo cons. Which brings me to my next point. There is no distance between American Intelligence,Al Qaeda and Saudi Arabia .
Do you really think America would give heavy weapons to Al Qaeda in Syria if they did not have absolute control of them? After all didn't Al Qaeda blow up the World trade Center and aren't they supposed to be Americas mortal enemy? When did that change(rhetorical question).
There has never been a meaningful conflict between the West and the Arab's that I can find in history. The Arab's have worshiped the West back to the age of the Greek before there even was an Arab named Arab.
The Arab and the Western White Man have been partners from the beginning in the enslavement and exploitation of Africans and their resources.
I used to puzzle as to how the European was able to gain such a foot hold in Africa and why so Many Africans wer sold into slavery.
It was not technology because the Blacka Moors of Spain had access to and create alot of the tech that Europe used. The Blacka Moor invented the first rifle. It as called "Fire Stick" and yes Europeans perfected it and made it into the musket etc.
The way that Europe was able to subdue Africa was because of its partner the Arab a relationship mind you that is not openly chronicled in History books but remains discreet to this day.
Arab Muslims through their Imams in Africa instigated Jihads at the same time that Europe instigated slave markets. The attacks and counter attack among te Africans between the Muslim and the non Muslim weakened the Nations of Africa dramatically and the demand for War captives created by Europeans caused a war frenzy to break out to the point where Slavery became the main economy of the Majority of Africans.
Those who escalated Slave sales became far richer than those who refused and therefore they were able to buy more rifles from the Europeans and more goods as well.This caused them to dominate resulting in those bing dominated in war and being sold of to engage on Slavery of THEIR captives in order to match the weapons of THEIR slaving enemy and it severely weakened the Clans and Nations.
This was planned by the Arab and the European together.
Fast forward to today and the increase in Attacks by "Al Qaeda" and the picture become clear on the strategy to recolonize Africa when they are destabilized into accepting Africom. This will fail for several reason that it would take a while to go into.
Israel is a distraction and means nothing. It is a plot of dirt. Syria's ports are far more valuable than anything Israel has. Israel has a part in this but I will remain silent on that also.
The point is that we always hear how most Arabs LOVE America and that the fundamentalists are the minority. This is true. Most Arabs see whites as superior and worthy and Blacks as inferior and as slaves.
All of the Arabs policies toward Africa since they came to be known as Arabs in the 9th century have been to double cross Africans while dominating them with religion at the same time.
Al Qaeda is a cut out.
Once Africa was stunned by the destabilization of the 18th century one two punch of African Jihad on orders from the Arabs and Western instigation together they both have been hitting Africa with punch after punch so that it can never regroup: Colonization,Neocolonization,Jihad,Despotism,Debt,Aid,disease,Reverse Agriculture(destroying the natural economies),pogroms,war,Apartheid.
These have been "punches" thrown in quick succession to exploit the labor and resources and instill a feeling of being unfavored by God in Africans. To use trauma based MK Ultra in a sense to make them feel like they must be inferior and incapable of running their own affairs without help.
this has been the work of the west and the Arab together with the Arab remaining in the shadows allowing it to appear as though the European must be an Super Man to be able to dominate a continent in this manner.
