Garlic 100x more effective than antibiotics | |
Vision Thing User ID: 36175629 ![]() 05/11/2013 10:35 AM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you want to take advantage of the medicinal properties of garlic, my understanding is that you have to eat it raw and eat it quickly after you crush it. We had a thread on here once with people saying how they eat raw garlic. I crush it into some olive oil to make dressing to put on salad, or add it to other food at the end of cooking. Mixing it with some oil or butter cuts the chances of getting an upset stomach, for me anyway. It's really good for your skin and your lungs. |

At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” -- Frank Zappa |

It's easy to grow and drought resistant, but I decided that it's not practical for my garden because I just want plants that yield within 6 months, and garlic and onions take 2 years. But there's always lots of good local grown garlic and onions in the local market. Last Edited by ehecatl on 05/11/2013 10:54 AM |

I had some ringworm recently that I was having a hard time getting rid of with the creams you by at the store. Then I crushed up and rubbed garlic on it a few times. It burned like hell, and it will burn your skin if you leave it too long, but it helped so much! |

Yeah, I have dozens of garlics planted all over, but the problem is that I let the chickens into an area when a lot of it has grown out of their reach. The chickens don't like garlic plants much, but they are such slow growers, after they start, that just a little damage here and there over a few years does them in. At a year and a half or two years the garlic sends out a long flower shoot, which they say is a delicacy, and that is when the garlic bulb should be ready underground. I've never really tried to grow onions, but apparently, same story. In the first year from seed they produce some tiny cloves I think I read, and only in the second year do those grow into full onion bulbs. Good things take time. |

It is said that those of the rajasic or tamasic types can eat onions, garlic, mushrooms, etc often and do well. Humans are quite different in what constitutes a good diet, and I do very well with lots of onions and garlic. Others might do better with it once in a while as medicine. |

Quoting: ehecatl "This compound is especially effective in killing bacteria when it is protected by a slimy biofilm, which makes it 1,000 times more antibiotic-resistant than a free-floating bacterial cell. Unlike modern antibiotics, namely erythromycin and cipofloxacin, the garlic-derived diallyl sulfide easily penetrated the biofilm protecting the bacteria, successfully shutting down the cells’ metabolism faster, and a shocking 100 times more effectively. On this breakthrough discovery, Lu says, “this work is very exciting to me because it shows that this compound has the potential to reduce disease-causing bacteria in the environment and in our food supply,” [link to www.riseearth.com] I think I'm seeing some derivatives of garlic fending off vampires. Beans and seeds highest in iodine content include lima beans, soybeans, cooked navy beans and sesame seeds. Vegetables highest in iodine include spinach, Swiss chard, turnip greens, summer squash and white potatoes with the peel. The herb highest in iodine is garlic. Hmm who knew.... makes sense why Garlic would heal you.....LUGOLS iodine is awesome. |
