Coronaviruses are believed to cause a significant percentage of all common colds in human adults. Coronaviruses cause colds in humans primarily in the winter and early spring seasons. The significance and economic impact of coronaviruses as causative agents of the common cold are hard to assess because, unlike rhinoviruses (another common cold virus), human coronaviruses are difficult to grow in the laboratory."...etc etc from [link to en.wikipedia.org] So, it's the common cold but more deadly? |

But maybe the medical companies has a plan to maximize profit.. Loosing an illusion makes you wiser than finding a truth. ~Ludwig Börne Believe those who are seeking the truth. For the moment, this virus isn't very contagious (fortunately, regarding the lethality...) but it could mutate. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 39760981 United States 05/13/2013 08:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh goodie, FIP for humans! Has anyone here ever had a cat with FIP, its horrible. [link to www.vet.cornell.edu] Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus. Most strains of feline coronavirus are avirulent, which means that they do not cause disease, and are referred to as feline enteric coronavirus. Cats infected with a feline coronavirus generally do not show any symptoms during the initial viral infection, and an immune response occurs with the development of antiviral antibodies. In a small percent of infected cats (5 to 10 percent), either by a mutation of the virus or by an aberration of the immune response, the infection progresses into clinical FIP. The virus is then referred to as feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). |

THEREFORE, one MUST keep cell walls strong to resist this invasion. Vitamin C, which the body ONLY retains for about 4 hours before it is excreted in the urine, NEEDS to be taken MORE than once in the morning (O J) AND the other missing vitamin, 'D' , especially during winter months ( i.e. no exposure to sunlight ) due to clothing. Be sure to study your notes, as there WILL be a quiz, SOON ! |

Quoting: fcpsp1 Yes, we should all be on our toes with these two. I know a lot of folks think its just crying wolf, look at H1N1 they say, it was no biggie. Truth is we were very lucky with H1N1 being that it was a swine/avian hybrid. Swine flu is not nearly as deadly to humans as a pure avian flu like H7N9. |

And you cannot imagine how ill you feel. I mean sick, sick, sick. So sick, you are perfectly willing to die. I got mine from getting a kidney infection and then not taking all the medicine which allowed it to spread all over my guts. Doctor who did the surgery on me said I had about one more day to live... one area of the PUS had wrapped around my bowel and it was about to degrade and fill me up with you know what. EEEKKKKKK!!!! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 787724 United States 05/13/2013 10:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WHO says new coronavirus may be passed person to person [link to www.bbc.co.uk] Quoting: Nordic Wolf "The World Health Organization says it appears likely that the novel coronavirus (NCoV) can be passed between people in close contact." 33 confirmed cases.. 18 of those dead.. Lethality is over 50%! "Cases have been detected in Saudi Arabia and Jordan and have spread to Germany, the UK and France." Novel coronavirus infection - update [link to www.who.int] The issue with the statement in bold is that the 50% mortality rate is of the people who actually come to the hospital, agree to be tested, and are tested which is a very small portion of the people who have actually contracted the virus. Most likely these are the old and young who are more likely to die from just about any virus. You should start worrying when young people from 18 to 45 or so start falling ill and thousands die even with treatment. More than likely a very large portion of these populations have immunities to these viruses and only had minor symptoms. |
bornatexan User ID: 1835214 United States 05/13/2013 10:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | WHO does not advise special screening at points of entry with regard to this event nor does it currently recommend the application of any travel or trade restrictions. Quoting: Lancerr 34751108 But they are screening anyways it seems here in U.S. per this: While no cases of H7N9 have been detected at this time in the U.S., 54 people with flu-like symptoms after travel to China have been tested. All have 54 tested negative for H7N9; while 6 tested positive for seasonal influenza A, and 3 tested positive for seasonal influenza B. Should a case be detected in the United States, this would not signal an increase in the potential risk to the public’s health unless the transmission pattern of the virus was to change. If a person in the United States has H7N9 flu, they will be isolated (separated from other people who are well) and cared for. In addition, a contact investigation will be done with people who may have been exposed to the sick person. Contact investigations are one of the ways CDC works with partners in the United States and other countries to protect the health of people exposed to an illness. This process involves finding, interviewing, and in some cases, testing or treating the people who came into contact with the sick person. All of this can help confirm that the virus is not spreading further in the United States. At this time, a decision to produce H7N9 vaccine for a U.S. national vaccination response has not been made. However, given the severity of human illnesses from H7N9 in China, HHS and its partners are taking preparedness steps to develop H7N9 candidate vaccine viruses and are planning for H7N9 [link to www.cdc.gov] vaccine clinical trials. [link to www.cdc.gov] I moved in with my elderly parents after my dad had a stroke 2 years ago. Now we are like the three muscateers. I kept buying gallons of water and can goods each time I went for groceries and if on-sale stacks of bottled water...finally Mama politely asked whats up with all the water. I finally came out and told her. I think it went well, the other day she was talking to a real estate lady. I asked why? She said , I was reading and we need a bug-out place...hehe true story! Well enough about me. |
