My daughter is now officially freaked out. I said..."Well sweety, your daddy is the "Clover King"...and she said "I guess so ".... It's all good....I know it's a trick. If you don't kill the root, the 4 leaf gene will expand. I would say next year, there will be 4 leaf clovers all over this patch. Or...maybe...there is something special to it....as an Irishman...I have to think I have somehow been blessed. It's a weird thing to find so many 4 leaf clovers in a single day and in a single patch. Perhaps the Leprechauns will smile on me and my family. I know that 6 and 7 leaf are possible...seen them but have no proof of them....If I get them, I will take pics and share.... fun stuff! |

I told her not a week ago that her dearly departed grandmother (my mom) was the Queen of clover. She could find multi leaf clovers like crazy. I remember her finding 4, 5, 6 and even...believe it or not...a 7 leaf clover once. I told my daughter her grandma had super human clover skills.... So today...they were just like jumping out at me...everywhere I looked I could see one. My daughter would take it and run in the house to press it in one of her books...now...my daughter will be 20 in June so it was kinda cool to mystify her this way...she was stunned. The more I found, the more amazed she was. When I pulled up the 5 leaf she was speechless. I could say it was special...but...I could also say I understand clover pretty well and a multi leaf clover is a genetic aberration. It will repeat itself in a patch. Last year I found 2 4 leaf clovers in the same area...so I knew there would be more there this year...if you do not kill the root...they expand and multiply. I knew there would be some in the patch I was exploring...the 5 leaf kinda surprised even me...maybe next year I'll find a 6 and the year after a 7....don't know... It was funny as hell though...If you could have seen the look of absolute puzzlement on my daughters face when I would pop one out....priceless. I am of Irish descent...both sides....so I told my daughter I was "King of the Clover fields"...I think she actually believes me! Cloverfield? OK, movie.. but I liked The Nines much better. Sorry I know this is maybe off-topic. |

I don't think there are any unicorns around here...but I have seen some beautiful whitetail deer....also we have a few black bear around here. I live on a mountain west of Winchester in a place called "Shawnee lands"...it used to be a ski resort ages ago. Apparently there is a lot of native influence here. I live on a road called "Hickory trail". During the winter....we had awesomeness up here.....the deer would come through the yard eating acorns...beautiful. I don't have a gun and you cannot hunt within the subdivision....but they were fantastic to watch. It was like they knew we couldn't hurt them. I would step out on my porch with a cup of coffee and a smoke and they would just pillage acorns from the yard....not overly concerned with me....it was amazing. |

I actually found 4 more 4 leaves while ago My wife wants to take a picture of all of them....all of the 4 and 5 leaf clovers and post them online. All of her friends are like "damn girl...and he isn't playing the lotto?" I am a simpleton....I do not want personal wealth....I want peace and prosperity for all of my fellow citizens....not just me. Here in the mountains...we look out for each other....I want good things to happen for me...but I want good things to happen for my friend...my neighbor too. |

When we have the whole shebang laid out and photographed....I'll pop it online on my photobucket. It's cool man...Made me happy to see my daughter think for one second that there is more to life that what meets the eye. She actually stopped for a second and wondered if her old man...her daddy...was something beyond the word of science...and that was a spectacular moment. I'll post the pics when they are ready. |

I am an Irishman....and I tell you what....I have never felt so blessed as I feel today. Maybe I won't win a bazillion dollars...maybe I will have to struggle to pay my bills next month....but the point is....something special happened today and I am tickled to be a part of it. The world is a funny mistress...she loves us in odd and strange ways. I feel blessed when the deer come close and feast in my yard. I feel special when the black bears wander through my yard on their way to the top of the mountain. I am easily pleased I guess. I am not a wealth based person. I don't know what means what...i heard 5 leaf is bad luck...but in a 12 to 2 ratio...I guess I win. But no...I don't think so....4, 5 and more leaf clovers is a gift....a check to see if we are paying attention. Nature IS our mistress and she surely loves us all....sometimes she is prim and proper and sometimes she is naughty. I love nature. I would spend all of my time in touch if I could...it is a beautiful thing...wonderful. Here in the mountains it is different than in other places....she is a trickster and likes to play games. No matter where she is manifest, mother nature is a wonderful and beautiful thing. It hurts me that people think that we Libertarians are for killing nature and hurting the earth....not true. I love this planet and I believe she is strong and powerful....she will not let us kill her....sad for those in the blinders....she will kill us long before we can kill her.... She is a potent beauty...and she will draw you in or she will crush you...I choose to be her friend. |
