Only thing about homeschooling is that some states don't give homeschoolers a diploma once they are done with high school.

In order to get a Pell Grant for college, you have to have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.

This started July 1st of last year. They no longer accept ACT scores from homeschoolers for Pell Grant applications.

We use a cheap, low-interaction "umbrella" program which issues a high school diploma and even has an optional ceremony to attend. It's a layer between the state and the homeschool family that oversees the homeschool within the laws of the state. Costs me $60 a year for the whole family regardless of number of kids.

Always easy to get around this diploma thing. Actually, you can print a diploma right off the internet and name the school anything you want, if someone wanted to go that route.

Won't work if they ask for an official transcript from a high school.
