Anhydrous ammonia is not explosive under any circumstances. Ammonium Nitrate is also not explosive unless it is mixed with diesel or some other inflammable, and then detonated.
Quoting: Slick Vick This is true... Needs something with it to make her go boom! MSDS Anhydrous ammonia [ link to www.tannerind.com] MSDS Ammonium nitrate [ link to www.sciencelab.com] And to make that much of it go boom would take quite a bit of an additional substance... Quoting: Charets Syndrome yet the media continued to portray it as highly explosive, as proven here in this Forbes article >>> [ link to www.forbes.com] "The TCEQ investigated the plant and noted that the plant had two 12,000-gallon tanks of highly explosive anhydrous ammonia within 3,000 feet of two schools. The TCEQ required Adair to build a wall between the tanks and a road to prevent vehicles from running into them. This wall was built and the company agreed to maintain safety precautions around the tanks." The walls were built because the chemical is highly caustic, NOT highly explosive! [ link to svasd.com]
