So the sun popped off 4 X class flares in just 48 hours - but has been almost completely silent for the last 30+ hours : [link to www.swpc.noaa.gov] Does anyone else get the feeling that when the sun does finally let one loose again, it just might be a whopper? Anyone have any insights/intuitions/predictions..? Could we be in for (Full disclosure - I made a "failed" prediction yesterday saying that one would happen within 3 hours of my post, which it didn't.
