They should all adapt to their new home soon. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39547701 Having them "fixed" when they are young is easier on them. Please reconsider on having them de-clawed. This is barbaric and torture. If you are not familiar with the procedure, please research this. Also your kitties will have no way to protect themselves should they get outside. Check into kitten/cat nail covers (like Soft Paws) which are far more humane and they are not very expensive. Enjoy your babies! Thanks! Yes I will look into Soft Paws! You should feel guilty about mutilating these kitties. You can train them, it just takes some time and effort, but it will be worth it. Don't rob your kitties of what comes natural to them, which is to scratch. You can get a scratching pole for them and allow them to be what God intended them to be. Please reconsider my sister. I will Lisa..I promise not to declaw.. I will talk to my Vet about just having there nail clipped every so often... Thank you! Love and hugs! Thank you so much! :kitteh643: LOL! Not Fair! how can I after looking at that Picture! I do have a scratching post tree, they love to scratch it and climb up on it.... Check into kitten/cat nail covers (like Soft Paws) which are far more humane and they are not very expensive. Enjoy your babies! I've used soft paws on 3 cats so far. If you start them young, they won't get in the habit of scratching things. After a year or so, they won't need the soft paws because they don't sharpen their claws or use them. Then you can just trim the claws every few weeks. Its much more humane and the cat gets used to being handled and groomed at a young age too. Its a win-win. I just love little kitten snuggles! But their shenanigans drive me up the wall-kittens are psychotic! I'll take a mellow adult cat any day over a kitten. "Fortune, honour, beauty, youth are but blossoms dying. In most first world countries it's been outlawed. It truly is an amputation of part of the cat's limb, not merely a removal of the claws. The word "de-clawing" is very deceptive. I'm really glad that you decided against de-clawing them, christian. Training them to use a scratching post will be easier than you think. I had two cats who were great about always using the scratching post once they were trained. |

Quoting: calin It is painful to them as well. I understand, but the Vet said if you do it when they are young enough they will get use to not having there nails... Not true. And you will likely have all kinds of behavior issues out of them. If they can't mark their territory with scratching, they'll mark it with peeing. |
