They do that all the time.

But how do you know he isn't intentionally gaining weight for an upcoming movie role?

I remember seeing the headlines on the scandal sheets at the checkout counters in the late '90s. They were all ragging on Sylvester Stallone, saying what a fat ass he had become and ridiculing him.

Seems he was intentionally gaining weight for his role in Cop Land. Once filming was over, we went back to his normal weight.

He's probably packing on weight for the new Bill and Ted movie. I remember reading some of the plot that leaked out where in one timeline in the movie they are middle aged pathetic losers, which probably also means they are overweight.
