USA is a 'Free Country' ??? Not with GMO's it Ain't!

The recent vote in the U.S. Senate on the GMO labeling issue would be left to the states... Thumbs Down... No Can Do! (The U.S. Constitution doesn't quite agree btw.)

Here are the stats on food labeling in the U.S.

"In the United States, Sanders said, food labels already must list more than 3,000 ingredients ranging from high-fructose corn syrup to trans-fats.

But unlike 49 countries around the world, including all the countries of the European Union, the United States does not require labels identifying genetically engineered ingredients."

Basically, our esteemed U.S. Senators apparently sided with one of their most generous benefactors...

So, if you agree that a "Free Country" is a place where the big corporations are free to "fire-at-will" at their chosen targets, then the U.S. stands out as the light of the world for freedom on this planet.

Conversely, if you think a "Free Country" where people are free to choose whether to eat genetically modified foods, you're apparently up against the wall on this one..,

You see, if you can't tell whether a given food product contains GMO ingredients, you can't make a choice as to what foods to by.

If you like, you can call your senators and congratulate them for the great service they performed for their constituents. (Which isn't you, btw.)
