Which they 'believe' is caused from the magnetic poles discharging pent up energy. Funny enough, ISON falls RIGHT into the category of a new and recent discovery called, Quark Stars. Well, they are 'neutron' stars sort of. They are caused when a star smaller than our own sun, but enough mass to obviously accomplish this, collapses and the quarks are thrust out into outer space... evidently the pressure and their own gravity keep them alive...
