Hey MM. We had a flash of lightning, a boom and then nothing. But I saw something strange about 30 minutes before. Something was gliding over the clouds, leaving a definate glow as it moved, you know, it shone through the clouds. Looked like sunlight as it crossed. I could see it shine through the clouds, but it was above the clouds. I was like WTF??

It was in central florida. It was classified as a sever thunderstorm they said it would take a couple of days to figure out if it was a tornado or not. Its moving off the coast on the east now.

Maybe. But if it was, it moved awful slow for it. Looked like if you took a sheet, and placed a light bulb behind it.

Got to jet. More thunderstorms moving in.

I think this part caught all of us off guard T. I just hope everybody digs in and stays safe.

Yea Cassie, you know I can't stay away from you all. grouphug

Glad most of that missed you, we had a bit of flash flooding here in the valley today along with some 1" hail. I thought we might see another funnel or two ourselves.

Current mesoscale report for the southern coastal areas.

[link to www.spc.noaa.gov]

A LINE OF STORMS IS CURRENTLY INTENSIFYING ALONG THE GULF COAST OF AL AND THE FL PANHANDLE. THE CONVECTION IS JUST AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING SHORTWAVE TROUGH OVER THE LOWER MS VALLEY AND SHOULD INCREASE IN COVERAGE OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. FORECAST SOUNDINGS FOR THIS AREA TONIGHT INCREASE VERTICAL SHEAR AS A MID-LEVEL JET APPROACHES THE REGION. IN ADDITION...MODERATE INSTABILITY IS PRESENT WITH STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR AS INDICATED BY REGIONAL WSR-88D VWPS. THIS SHOULD BE ADEQUATE FOR ROTATING STORMS WITH A TORNADO POTENTIAL. ALSO...ISOLATED WIND DAMAGE AND HAIL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGER STORMS.

factor in solar unminimum and global warming, the near future is looking catastrophic.

Thanks for the bump 55380, I'm still keeping an eye on this. No news is good news here. Tstorms are still rolling through there, but there hasn't been any rotation showing. South Carolina is the one getting hit with the strong Tstorms right now and high winds.

hi Cassie

I like that one. It's one of the new ones Traveler put up.

I just went out to get the paper and it's feeling rather tropical out for 5:30 in the morning.

I see the lightning starting in the distance. Has anyone ever been killed by lightning sitting on the toilet?

Damn your eye Atma, that thing freaked me out. LOL

I've heard you can get fried on the can, but that could just be an urban legend. Let's play mythbusters. Just stay on the can for a while and let us know what happens. 1rof1

hi Cassie, it does look like it's going to be an interesting season this year.
