Would you survive as a tramp?

I probably would not, being homeless would make me a robber, I think.

I also hate camping!! really.

That is one of the reasons why I respect friendly homeless people.

I think I would survive. Id sleep in a cardboard box against a concrete wall that had absorbed heat during the day or under an air vent at our shopping centre that blows out hot air.

Hunger is good sauce, so I reckon my standards on food would lower.


Not sure about being able to defend myself in a desperate homeless society though.

I would live in the forest, build a nice hut and gather food where ever i could find and grow my own and share with my animal friends ;P

I have lived rough, lots of times.
The most important thing is to go South and be warm.
You need to sleep if you want to survive and you need to eat good.
If you can Eat and Sleep good you have got half the battle won.
You will also need to Poop and Bathe,
If you can Eat,Sleep,Poop,and Bathe,you are now winning.
Next thing you will need is Income, a Job !
I have been a Tramp from Honolulu to the Aegean sea.
Got thrown out of a park in London at 4am for sleeping on a bench, stuff like that.
Mostly,you can get a job and get well,sleep in your new van,
Motel,Bed-Sit,Beach whatever.
Meet a girl,settle down, whatever.
I'm fully domesticated now, I have a wife,dog,Hot Tub,Lawnmower,Ducks,big screen TV and all that stuff.
I could go back to the travelling life if I had to,I think about it often, the adventures I have had.
I shoplifted a can of sardines in Tampa,Fla. once, that was my low point.
And I never did the Sex or Drugs thing, people like that are not Travelers (Tramps), they are something else.
Doing your laundry is also a priority.

If you can avoid looking homeless you can sleep all day in a park, just look like you fell asleep while enjoying laying in the grass.
Fresh trash from restaurants will keep you alive.

No you cant sleep in a park, in most places,you will get arrested, in the USA anyway.
The Park might have Snow or Rain or just be freezing cold, what will you do then ?
Your idea of that life involves a fantasy tramp on a Pacific,Tropical island.
You would be dead in a month.
Probably not though,your brain would kick in and you would find A Way forward,the survival instinct is strong.

go to a hawaiian beach! Be aure to buy a ticket to hawaii with the last of your money.

I once hitch hiked all over CA and then to PA. My first night out I got dropped off on some off ramp. Where to sleep? Then I focused on the big shrub right in the center of that circular off ramp. Crawled in, spread out my ground tarp and sleeping bag and went to sleep.

From then on, I focused on bushes/shrubs/ferns etc planted by man. Just get in behind it and hit the snooze button.

I did that once in the middle of a roundabout just outside Tauranga, NZ.

Cold as a witches tit, but slept there anyway. No sleeping bag though, wasn't that organised.

seriously what is the deal with the police and people in general if they see someone sleeping in the grass or sleeping in general, it's like they can't stand the thought of someone sleeping, it's their instinct to attack someone while they are defenseless or something.

Really is horrible how people treat you when they realize you're homeless, it's like their big chance to get off and attack someone who is friendless, most people are really monsters. they all pretend like they care about children, and the homeless, and those people in afghanistan but the truth is they are all monsters when there is one in their immediate area and their gut reaction is to behave like a sniveling little monster.

where's saddle tramp he might have an opinion on this
