Sign of catastrophic event

In local newspapers strange articles appeared about swarms of dragonflies. Four-spotted Chasers filled nets in Vente Cape used for catching migrating birds and tagging them. Locals remember similar events are happening before major catastrophic events. Similar event was seen right before WW2 in the same bird tagging station.
