No one should win any prizes everyone should be treated just like everyone else, this is the whole problem with the world right now.

He went against military command and released confidential documents knowing very well they would grill his ass for it. This man may be spending the rest of his life in prison for doing what any morally sound person would do, but would be too fearful to pursue.

You say he should be treated like everyone else? So for going against a tyrannical government and revealing to the public what sort of atrocities these "wars" are doing, he should serve prison time because that's what everyone else would get for disobeying command and oath? He shouldn't be recognized for his heroism in being the ONLY ONE standing up for this shit?

Bradley Manning is already guilty, the way the US military treated him and place him in isolation is unbelievable. He will be made an example of, just to the wide publicity and the damage done to allies, i.e. the truth and some gossip.

Peace prize lost all prestige after Obama was awarded it IMO.

The upper class and well connected got the job of running that war .
Some did the job well. Many did the job badly and were never judged for their actions .
Men put in charge just on merit of daddy was in business and sent them to oxford or eaton...Many were not capable of putting on a pair of boxing gloves and sparing with their fellow man for 3 minute,most likely crying after such shocking brutality more associated with the lower classes.
Yet we gave power to these men who were no strangers to chess boards.
Many fools in command sent tens of thousands into a hail of bullets and shells rather than refuse the chain of command and take time -out to rethink strategy.
Thousands of heroic men were shot at dawn as cowards ,just because they could not stand up and march at the enemy. Many had spent many days trading bullets and seeing the horrors of war,hardened soldiers and true heros many of them.Some actually just refused to march any more,some had got shell shock ,others had suffered mental nervous breakdowns from the shock of seeing a mans guts or brain hanging out.
It takes a brave man to follow a leader who gives away most of his pawns as his first course of action.
The generals signing the death warrants were well away from the real action and could not see these people as victims of war ,walking wounded, who needed sending home . No they were cowardly barstads with cowardly blood.
WE NEEDED BRADLY MANNING BACK THEN
PUBLIC OUTCRY COULD HAVE STOPPED NEEDLESS EXECUTIONS.
AND MORE INFO ON HOW MEN WERE BEING SENT TO DEATH MAY HAVE RESULTED IN A PAUSE AND A RE-THINK ON THE VALUE OF THE PAWN PIECE.
