I have followed IHOP for years myself, and I have to say, no part of their worship seems to point to themselves. I know because I am a worship leader myself, inspired first by Misty Edwards, and I have memorized around 95% of IHOP's music (no kidding). Also, Mike Bickle almost always tells his listeners that if anything he ever says (or any of the IHOPKC staff/speakers for that matter) contradicts scriptures or if we don't find it in there, we are to forget about it.
I don't see why people keep pushing the idea that IHOPU is some secretive cult. It's just like a lot of Bible colleges. I go to John Brown University and they require for you to live on campus and it is a lot more expensive than IHOPU. They also encourage us to fast as often as the Holy Spirit leads. I try to fast once or twice a week out of a devotion for God as my Bridegroom based on Mike's insightful and Biblical teaching.
I'm not mad, and I don't want it to sound like I'm causing an argument. I just don't see why we should spend time and energy pounding away at a ministry when there are PLENTY of other things in this world we could be worried about.
