Good, it's nice to see people playing actual instuments again. Sick of all this computer made music with only some pop star singing.

Seems wierd, WHHYYY. IF you think these styles individually have always been around since. I prefer the 50's, 60's push more.

Oh yes God plese!

I noticed that trend to bring back the 80s! Can you blame them, they lost so much credibility with the crap they've tried to sell.

Damn sure better than the talentless garbage they push today. Step in a better direction. At least it's rock! I thought rock actually had died. No new stuff being promoted anywhere.

Re: Universal Music Trying to Bring Back 80's Hair/Glam Rock
gotta admit, I love the 80's and a lot of hair bands, but this band sounds a lot like a cross between Europe and Poison.

Hopefully, they'll lead a new path of bringing back the 80's hair bands. If so, then major props to them.

Wish we could get more attitude bands that played a little bit more like Motley Crue, Guns n' Roses, Jackyl, Skid Row and Van Halen

There is an art to making catchy well mixed pop music on a computer. I suspect its well paid with royalties too. I agree about the pop star though, theres no reason they should take all the glory.

You do actually need to be a musician to write the music on the computer, or else you're going to have a very hard time. Also its advisable to have a degree in music technology.

With chord progression/drum/harmony/sample machines, I beg to differ. I'm pretty sure there's also "random brainstorm" tools that offer progressions and melodies for you to tweak.

I mean sure, there's some diamonds in the rough, but face it, today's pop is mostly mass manufactured way ahead of time, stored, sold and set to lyrics when they have a new idol in town.

Autotune btw works by making you sound better the worse you sing. You are supposed to sound bad to let autotune do its job (if you want that 'autotune' effect and not just the subtleties)

Does that mean in 10 years we might see a return to the 90's hard rock music scene? When it comes to rock music, man I miss the 90's...a lot.

Re: Universal Music Trying to Bring Back 80's Hair/Glam Rock
Ok a few things to say after I listened, and they kind of hurt.

First, this was back in 2011, and I haven't heard the radio lately, but did they stick around now?

Second, this may be trying to be good 80s, but it's missing something....I can't put my finger on it, can someone more experienced with music techniques understand what I'm saying....it sounds almost like pop took the corpse of the 80s and is just dancing with it. Maybe it's too compressed, maybe it's too digital, maybe it's just too damn repetitive and cliche.
I mean the Bombshell one even used the Truck Driver's Gear Change at the end, probably for no other reason than to be like "HEY! REMEMBER THIS?! THIS HAPPENED A LOT IN THE 80S, SO WE'RE 80S NOW!", same with the toms on the Paradise song. And the lyrics need a lot of work.

They have the image, they've got some talent (I mean, I could play anything they play that I've heard so far) but they just don't have the sound and the heart of the good 80s bands, it just feels like they're acting. However, I'd much rather hear this kinda thing than what we've got going now. And maybe this will pave the way for new better things.
