BANNED: British shopkeeper forced to stop selling 'obey our laws or get out' T-shirt
A SHOPKEEPER was threatened with arrest by police after he displayed a T shirt in his shop window with the statement: "Obey our laws, Respect our beliefs or get out of our country."

T shirt printer Matthew Taylor created the shirt in the wake of Drummer Lee Rigby's tragic death. But following a complaint from a member of the public, police came to his store in Newport, South Wales, and threatened to arrest him unless he removed the T shirt from sight.

Matthew said: "I had a visit from two community support officers because it has been reported by someone who felt it was offensive. "It's not meant to be offensive, and that's not the reason I produced it. It's what I believe.

Newport city councillor, Majid Rahman said: "I believe in freedom of speech and defend his rights to say what he wants, but once it starts offending people then it's a police matter and it's up to them whether they think it's broken any laws."

well done that man!!

clappa

why would someone be 'offended' by that?

someone who doesn't respect our laws, and breaks them on a regular basis maybe?

what those coppers should have done is arrested the complainant on suspicion of terrorism offences.

Isnt it funny how the ptb make any identification of the problem or actions toward correcting the problem illegal on some ludicrous pretext or another?

So its okay to have a shirt that says "Kill Cops", or "Smoke Weed", or other illegal things, but hey once you say something like "Respect our laws or get out" ... well thats not ok.

They should deport councillor Majid for being a traitor to the laws.

Why does anyone stay on that shitty little island? They even dug a tunnel. You do not even need a passport to leave. Why stay?

Makes me ashamed to have ancestors from there. Bunch of lily livered sissies. Hard to believe they ruled the world for a little while.

But then, my family got smart and left in 1730. It has all been down hill for England every since. Again, what would keep anyone in such a foul tyranny?

LOL omg yup it looks like irony is the new law.

if we had this shirt in california, it would be racist too.

the irony? pretend i'm an undocumented illegal alien, i see this shirt. so what do i do? call the police and cite racial hatred laws to get them to take it down.

so, i will break the law as it suits me, but i will use the law against others when it suits me.

What a croc of crap this is. Hell I have come across at least 50 t shirts that make what is said on that t shirt nothing at all.

If I lived near this shop I would go buy a t shirt and stand outside the shop

Then this shop keeper can tell them to FO and keep selling his tees? Or does his lack of compliance escalate to the next level?

I guess what I am getting at is how high will this go to eventually take the shopkeepers rights away?

No poisonous creatures except the adder which is rare anyway. Countryside is fucking paradise when the weather is good.

But it's expensive as hell, the government and culture suck. But then where else is there that doesn't also fit that match? ¬_¬

Honestly, they're the worst type of people. People whose IQ was soooo low that even the cops wouldn't take them. The type of people who have never achieved anything, and instead get joy out of ruining other peoples day to inflate their own ego. It's pathetic.

"I believe in freedom of speech but not when its offensive..." ... .wait..... what??? Freedom of speech generally by definition goes against the "norms" of a society, if it weren't for it, many of the freedoms we take for granted we wouldn't have because hundreds of years ago someone would have been offended! This is the type of brain dead zombie which has ruined the western world.

I plan on going to West Virginia. It is like it is another country already. And there is plenty of wild game, food to forage and natural shelter. Plus it is very defendable. There are steep mountains and little human development. And hundreds of abandoned coal mines to hide from the gov in.
