Middle-schooler suspended for talking about Sandy Hook shooting on school bus

In response to the recent suspension of a kindergartner for bringing a cowboy-style cap gun onto a school bus in Calvert County, Maryland, another parent in the same school district has come forward, saying the same thing happened to his son.

Bruce Henkelman said his 11-year-old son was suspended last December after he was caught talking about the Sandy Hook shooting on his bus ride home. The driver overheard his conversation and turned the bus around. Back at school, the middle-schooler was questioned by the principal.

'He said, I wish I had a gun to protect everyone. He wanted to defeat the bad guys. That's the context of what he said,' Henkelman told WMAL. 'He wanted to be the hero.'
