One of my great uncles was an artilleryman in the Canadian Army. He was there on D-Day. His war diary (which is all of three or four pages long) mentions that Canadian artillery units in his area of operations were lobbing no less than 13,000 shells per hour at German positions. And this took place in the first two hours after Canadian troops landed on Juno Beach. Anyway you look at it, that is some pretty intense fighting.

I never met the man, but I still salute him and the sacrifices made by his comrades in arms.

Are there many earthquakes/tremors in that area? Or is it just the poor dead soldiers spinning in their graves? What a waste of life. And for what? we'd have been better off if we'd allied with Germany back then.

Hm.

No-one in the West said diddley squat, when Stalin
invaded half of Poland. (When he tried to take Finland,
there was at least a few eyebrows raised in concern - even
in America.) Hitler did the same and was immediately met
with declarations of war.

Oh well, the useful idiocy of WWII filled its purpose:
"Racism" is now forever married to the Great European
Trauma.
What better foundation for multiculture..?

Damned insane Hitler played right into the hands of the
NWO...and there is a clear pattern there:
Lure people in with tidbits of truth and morcels of common
sense until they are hooked believers.
Then unleash the crazy.

Stalin was like a Hitler that had won. The rest of the world was probably just waiting for Russia to claim the rest of Europe. but then Hitler showed up.

Or the balls not to?

Regardless of fear of punishment,
I would personally have had a very
difficult time not to join the others
at the front, when the Bolsheviks wanted
our land and our demise.
Had I been around in the Finland of 1939.

Everlasting respect and gratitude to the
Veterans!

Hey,

Happy DDay!!

Today, I celebrate Ally invasion. I have hard time wishing "rest in peace" to Axe forces. Normally, I respect both sides but today, for DDay and for VEday my heart goes to Ally only!

Sad I had to search for a D-day thread.

“There is a lot of cynicism around today. I hope people remember that there were people like me and all the Rangers that I worked with, those of us who really believed in democracy. I didn’t have any education. America was good to me,” Gabaree said. “I hope people remember there were many men who sacrificed their lives and youths. We were young when we went over there, but we came back old men. It was a supreme sacrifice. I hope people remember, there were some of us willing to die for democracy, because we believed in it.”

100% correct. Hitler did not want war but was forced to invade Poland (I think it was called the Danzig Corridor - where Poles were attacking Germans). But who really knows the truth? Rudolf Hess was kept in isolation after the war so he could not give his side of the story. They (the real rulers of this world)wanted to cull populations by war. But war has not killed enough people, so they are up to new tricks by killing us using food, chemicals, vaccines and poisons. The really crazy thing is when people have enough food, shelter and comfort - they produce less children anyway - and you get a natural reduction in population. It's as if they want to breed suffering. I wonder is it because when we suffer we generate a kind of energy they are after. Therefore the suffering continues endlessly.
We cannot believe history as it was written by the winners and not by joint consensus.

Gives one a tiny glimpse into the horrors of war. Any prick that says D-day was a 'walk in the park' is an asshole.
Both sides need remembrance - its a shame that brother fought brother instead of both taking on the real enemy.
