Was the Pharisees denial of Christ a blatant willfull ignorance or were they just REALLY stupid?

Yes, wilfull ignorance up to these very days. Of many.

They might have been scoundrels, thieves, liars, frauds, banksters, cheats, etc, etc, etc but they were not stupid. So by process of elimination...

The Pharisees knew who Christ was(at least they recognized the miracles of God and the Words He spoke were Truth beyond normal knowledge)

This is why they were accused of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Now a Pharisee like Saul(Paul) believed that Christ was a false Prophet and persecuting the Christians was holy. Paul had never seen Jesus in person or heard Him speak and perform miracles, so Paul was not operating in willful ignorance either. Thus Paul did not commit the one unforgivable sin; blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

In fact, when Saul(Paul) met Jesus, He recognized who He was and changed completely.

Ha! Yeah, but when one reads John Chapter 7, 8 in particular, one cannot but come up with the word "stupid"!

They were terrified of CHrist

because they 'knew' he was of God

and this torn apart their little controlled world and their 'laws'

They believed if they killed him ; they would rid the world of him

but they didn't have a clue that they were actually doing

God's plan

well no, they were learned priests, but they expected Christ to be a literal King and savior, not a spiritual one, they didn't understand their own scriptures. Same is true today

What controls our recognition of God and submission/surrender Unto HIM is our heart, not intellect.

What do the pharisees and all judaism since the crucifixion matter to you? Looking to "understand" the why of failure? Might best ask yourself "why haven't I been able to come to that point in my life where I can tell God I Trust HIM Fully with every aspect of my life"?

No need to ponder failure, betrayal, and treachery. Such are the human condition and fruits of carnality; reliance upon self and self-will. The result of alienation from God.


These are the Final Moments. If YOU are not Of-HIM, you are in alienation; a heart "waxed gross": blocked and unable to Hear The Gospel. Unable to manifest your heart Unto The Father take action, make your Leap Of Faith.


What matters; ALL That Matters in the scope of your life, is Trusting God Fully and telling HIM so. Looking for reasons about why others failed will gain you nothing. Alienation from God is nothing new. Adam and Eve chose to alienate themselves from HIM in the beginning.

What is NEW, and The Purpose Of Christ and The Gospel is that God The Father Wants To Know You Personally & Directly. To Commune and Have Relationship With you, if your heart has been called...

God The Father, The King, Gives you your Wedding Garment when you make your surrender and Come Unto HIM. A New Heart Of HIS Flesh to replace your stony carnal heart. Just as Witnessed in Ezekiel 36:26-27...
26. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Your Wedding Garment... The Born-Again Life...
Being Enabled By The Father to live this life as verse 27 Witnesses: I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.


Do they who were originally bidden/invited to attend as guests matter? Not to The King.

In the scope of your life, If you Know WHO Christ Jesus IS, and you Love HIM with a True heart; you have been Called Unto The Father... Have you answered? Got your wedding garment???


Many are called, but few choose to make their surrender Unto The Father... Will you be one of them?

This need not be any merely theoretical question.

Ask ANY Christian theologian today about the Doctrine of "resurrection" being taught by Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel and Jesus as a Doctrine of 'Rebirth'.

Now, are they willfully ignorant of this Truth or are they just REALLY stupid?

The Will and the Way..

The Way will remain the Will to you will not...even though you know and see the Way you shall Will not.

Because the WORLD will claim it is the way, not his true way we see and should GO. People filled with frightening fear and not having love will not be hot passion to pick the real way while the world peer pressure claims different.

they were looking for the messiah and when he came they didn't recognize him because of their own preconceived ideas of who he would be .....that was during the first coming

It makes no difference if we know the scriptures by the letter they are written or the words they are spoken to you.

If the power of God is not known to you the words in your hearing fall on deaf ears and blind eyes.

It you heard or saw will be of no effect. Even though you know the letter or words there of even if you see the power of it move and go forth and do...even be alive who once was dead. You will not believe what you see or hear.

A spirit of error is of the world.

The Will is of God as His Way is also...and these are in us only by Him who is in us.

He knows His own for He is in them.

One of their "preconceived ideas" was that "the resurrection" was the raising of a dead physical body from the grave; that is, the Egyptian 'god of the dead' doctrine.

When he told them that they were "wrong" in that regard; then explaining in figurative language that "the resurrection" refers, specifically, to the revelation of the memories of previous lives, they were offended.

And, were Jesus to ride a white horse out of the sky and perform ten thousand other Miracles today, but were then to say that the Doctrine of "resurrection" is a Doctrine of 'Rebirth', based upon the revelation of the memories of previous lives...

These hundreds of millions of intensely offended Christians would crucify him again.

The Pharisees were looking for a warrior, a man that would create war against all of the Jews enemies and win. A man that would create a Jewish homeworld through the destruction of those against them.

God brought a man of peace, a man that taught humility, compassion, and spirit. Not exactly what the Jews were looking for or wanted.

Jesus was also a thorn in the Pharisess's side because Jesus challenged the Pharisees's right of governess over a free people. Give your material world to those that claim material right over you, but give GOD what is GOD's.

They knew who Jesus was, but for the following reason they did not accept him:

"Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth. 43 Why is it YOU do not know what I am speaking? Because YOU cannot listen to my word. 44 YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]. 45 Because I, on the other hand, tell the truth, YOU do not believe me. 46 Who of YOU convicts me of sin? If I speak truth, why is it YOU do not believe me? 47 He that is from God listens to the sayings of God. This is why YOU do not listen, because YOU are not from God.”-John 8:42-47

Kind of sounds like the Pharisees to me

Kind of like when Jesus resurrected Lazarus and the Pharisees wanted to kill both Jesus and Lazarus

Do not blaspheme, Harry is very real.

Real jews like Simeon, who waited his whole life in the temple for Jesus, knew the messiah was coming. Daniel had given his 77 weeks of years prophecy some 600 odd, or so years earlier. Daniel said that 539 years after the rebuilding of the temple the messiah would enter Jerusalem and proclaim his kingdom. Jesus did that on palm Sunday about 33 AD as you may know. Give or take depending on how accurate you believe our calendar is.

Simeon knew Jesus had to be born and probably grow to adulthood and live some undetermined amount of time before he did it. Simeon knew he was close, he just wasn't sure how close. He knew it had to probably be during his lifetime so he hung around the temple and waited Daniel out. Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to the temple as a baby and Simeon spotted him. "Those who know my father will know me."

The pharisees had long before that time stopped believing in the scriptures, preferring to consider them a bunch of old legends you can't take too seriously. They missed it altogether because they never believed any of it was really true. So it was ignorance.

The Pharisees however were altogether wicked and completely willful in their disregard for Jesus fulfilling all prophecy
-there was no excuse for them, being "versed in the law" and all to not know Daniels prophecy and all the other ones were fulfilled in the Christ. Their problem was their arrogance...........
