Man, I ask this question all the time. I would have to say the beauty of nature, music, and the many experiences I have had with psychedelics. Since I view these things as meaningful, that's enough reason for me to believe that there is a fundamental beauty underlying in them.
Also, recognize that separation from nature is just an illusion, and extremely new concept in human cognition. Before Descartes/scientific revolution, people understood humanity had an integral role in nature and the ecosystem. Shake this ego, realize you are Earth, and the Earth is you. Breath in the air, feel the warmth, this is all an ongoing process that you are so lucky to be a integral part of.
My philosophy of life is: if your not having fun, your doing it wrong.
Quoting: whereisthemusic Nature is the only true beauty I see, but even living in a rainforest surrounded by mountains, I fell deeper and deeper into depression. I can't seem to find peace at all. I am still young(early 20's) but cant help but be succumbed to the negativity of the world and my thoughts. I will continue to find helpful moments or situations, but an end to this misery doesn't seem likely.
