I'm sure that you are capable with whatever endeavour you engage. Congratulations. Me, I am capable also. I don't receive ANY help from the government. But I also don't mind that my taxes pay for progress here in my little corner of the world. I DON'T like my taxes to be used to pay off insolvent banks, paper corporations that don't PRODUCE anything, wars, or for making others suffer. There CAN be compassion in a capitalist system, as with any other, but human greed seems to limit the depths of compassion. Now, please. Refute. |

The problem with Socialism is that it discourages innovation & wealth. If you invented something, or created a business that took off and got hella rich from it.,kudos for you, you thought of something no one else did. Socialists will take 3/4 of your wealth and give it to people who ("don't want to try in life.") So why bother... What you end up with is a Country full of people living in cardboard boxes waiting for their government Rationed Cheese...No Thanx! |

AC...I think you have taken the OP's statement to some extreme that doesn't exist. - Capitalists are not against paying taxes, they are against being overburdened with taxes to the point that over 50% of your earnings disappear. - Capitalists, at least this capitalist, does not believe in subsidizing industries to make them competitive (whether it be farming, solar, electric vehicles, etc). - Capitalists do not believe in Too Big To Fail. - Capitalists do not oppose helping those truly in need. What capitalists oppose are government policies that create generational welfare recipients who believe THEY are owed this by their government. Remember Kennedy's words...it's not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. In today's world JFK would be considered a conservative. These people have become entirely too intrusive in our lives and they have stifled creativity and competition. They have regulated us to the point where we have become reliant on them, when in fact it should be the exact opposite.
