We have horses, mules, donkeys that always shed their winter coat by April/early May. Not only they have not shed but they look like they belong in 30 below temps. Horses are a bit better. Weird things popping up here. Nice thread Da. Awesome info AC, thanks for contributing, takes things from the vague to the specific real quick. I'm thinking hormones regulate coat growth/shedding. Incidentally, Pesnell notes a similarity between Solar Cycle 24, underway now, and Solar Cycle 14, which had a double-peak during the first decade of the 20th century. If the two cycles are in fact twins, “it would mean one peak in late 2013 and another in 2015.” Interestingly, Solar Cycle 14 began in 1902 and ended in 1913. The Tunguska Event occurred in 1908, and the Chelyabinsk bolide/meteor occurred this cycle - just throwing that in there... |
