Thorium's also good because it's cleaner than uranium:

* Thorium is much more abundant in nature than uranium.
* Thorium can also be used as a nuclear fuel through breeding to uranium-233 (U-233).
* When this thorium fuel cycle is used, much less plutonium and other transuranic elements are produced, compared with uranium fuel cycles.
* Several reactor concepts based on thorium fuel cycles are under consideration.

BTW I'm not discounting the possibility that "cold fusion" or other exotic energy sources might prove useful. Something seems to be generating excess energy in these experiments and it could render hot fusion obsolete.

It's good how you can't make bombs with it.

I've been watching the oil prices, they seem to up up up then drop a little and level off for a week or so, then resume their climb. They reached $75 last week and dropped to $73+ I think we can expect an upward trend for this or next week. Anyways spring and fall are the seasons of least consumption, yet hitting records.

Big oil knows damn well they have us over a barrell...pun intended.
