Self Proclaimed Progressives/Liberals....Please Define What "Progress" Means To You.

One 'progresses' from owning nothing and earning nothing to owning what someone else worked for and had taken from them.
You 'progress' from being a lazy nothing to master an lord over your betters.

Can you elaborate, I don't quite get what you mean..

Progressive believe that there is some sort of utopian state where the central govt supplies all the basic needs, food, housing, medical etc etc and all the happy sheeples are free to think up great things and be beautiful unique snow flakes that are unburdened by such mundane responsibilities.

Frankly IMO it's retarded...the Libertarians aren't far behind while being on the other end of the political/ideological spectrum. Both utopian scenarios rely on either the govt or fellow fucktarded humans to more or less be benevolent and always do what's "right".

Which of course NEVER happens in real life EVER.
The Govt becomes drunk and paranoid with power and becomes more and more oppressive. Fellow humans will always exploit conditions of zero control to benefit themselves and their own, see the "tragedy of the commons".

Pretty basic traits of human nature which have borne out to be true for thousands of years....and yet...the utopian fantasies are repackaged and sold again and again.

Your definition is what I believe it means also...but maybe they are confused, or I/we misunderstand?

Here is a handful of liberal/progressive causes that were vehemently opposed by right-wingers and now considered inalienable rights: racial equality (equal access to schools, voting, etc.), equal pay for women, voting rights for women, inter-racial marriage, Social Security, Medicare, etc.

This pretty much sums up the concept of progressive.

These are things that happened in the past...what about the future?

What is future progress to you?

Progress means white people dead or in chains

As much as I wanted to laugh at that comment...I think there are some who truly believe that.

For the future? Expansion and continuation of all those progressive breakthroughs I mentioned earlier, along with equal access to quality healthcare, marriage equality, hopefully drawing down some of our useless, costly and obsolete military commitments/troops in Western Europe (relics of the Cold War with the Soviets) so we can pay down our national dept, fund improvements in infrastructure and education, etc.

So what's your vision of an improved future? Going back to the past?

Maybe some of us have other things to do besides hang out constantly on this f-d up forum. Yeah, I'm sure the DNC is very interested in what goes on at GLP. They monitor it 24/7

They want equal opportunity to become equal outcome.

Common people I mean we all want progress don't we? - y'know to a better kinder and more gentle world, without all the 'bitter clingers' just getting in the way of everything.
