Global Data Mining/Surveillance Operation! Well done Google. Spending some of those "legally" saved tax dollars on projects that will actually benefit the human race and ultimately could solve the big problem of Internet black spots. ![]() |

Global Data Mining/Surveillance Operation! See the google link for video and explanation of "Project Loon": Quoting: Ketchup. [link to www.google.com] This is the craziest fucking idea I've ever heard of... Could be a global Data Mining operation.... There is no need to worry about "Data Mining" sheeple. You can ask Google to give everything they have on you. You can even ask then to do an "online suicide". So all your information is deleted. It's in their policies somewhere. I would link if I wasn't such a lazy bastard. |

But in a way, Google has done a good thing with putting their data collection practices out in the open. Because up until now, most people assumed the network was just a passive conduit and you only had to be worried about shady rogue elements sneaking in and eavesdropping without permission. Now everyone knows that it's not intruders who are going to cause problems, it's the operators of the network itself. No, you can't trust Google anymore. But you never should have trusted them in the first place. |

The people of the world who don't have internet would probably prefer food in their stomach and clean running water not surfing the internet and looking at what they can buy on eBay!!!! |

The more people have acess to Internet, more opportunity for surveillance. |

Global Data Mining/Surveillance Operation! brought this up on the other thread about this. Someone google SANSWIRE and put up the info. I was investing in a penny stock back in 07 or abouts. The company is called Globe Tel Communications and a side company called Sanswire made prototypes of what they were going to call Stratellites. They were going to put these blimps up about 65,000 feet and keep them stationary with all the technology inside of them. Their downfall was they were unable to keep it stationary. If someone is interested in putting the info up, do it I don't know how, sorry. |

Global Data Mining/Surveillance Operation! Google say this will be "free for all" and have comparable speed to"3G". I guess they will fund this buy selling our data to governments. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6432887 Where do Google state they will be proving this for free? The way I understand it, they will be working with local service providers. |
